How to Prepare for PESSAT 2018

'How to prepare for PESSAT' is an important question that must be addressed if you are appearing for the entrance exam this year. Those of you who are planning to take the exam should know what all you need to study to prepare for the exam. Apart from having an in-depth understanding of PESSAT exam pattern and PESSAT syllabus, you should know some quick tips and tricks to study in a smart manner.

By putting in a lot of hard work and staying focused throughout the course of preparation, you can successfully crack the exam. Before you begin to read the following pointers to start your preparation, we suggest that you quickly go through the PESSAT exam pattern and PESSAT syllabus.

PESSAT is conducted for admission to undergraduate courses like B.Tech, BBA//BBA – HEM, BBA-LLB and B.Des, as well as postgraduate courses such as M.Tech, MBA, M.Com, MCA and M.Sc. The exam for other subjects will be conducted in June and July.

Now, take a look at the following points and put them into practice to achieve success in the examination.

Make a Schedule of Your PESSAT Preparation

You need to prepare a schedule plan for the PESSAT. Make a practical study plan so that you may stick to it. Planning always leads to success. Start your exam preparation with a simple but an important subject. It will develop your interest in the exam preparation. This way, you will also be able to cover that particular topic. While preparing a schedule, put short breaks in between so that you feel fresh throughout the preparation journey.

Time Management

One of the major factors that impact your performance in an entrance exam is the way you manage your time while preparing for the exam, as well as while taking the exam. Make a proper time table and include all the topics that you need to cover in your syllabus. Apart from dedicating time to every topic in the syllabus, keep some extra time for revision once you are done with a particular topic. You can also practice mock tests and come up with your own time-saving techniques that you may execute on the day of the exam.

Increase Your Knowledge

Knowledge can give you power. Try to understand things instead of memorising the topics. You may forget what you learned, but you will never forget things that you understood. Once you understand the topic, memorising will become easier. Go through the standard textbooks carefully. They are a great source for clearing concepts. Start with one topic, finish it and then move to the other one. Try not to not leave any topic in between and start another. This will lead to confusion and misunderstanding of the concepts. Try to research on the topic or section you are studying. This will give you a clear picture of the subject-matter. Make short notes for every important definition, concept, formula or derivation while studying any topic.

Seek Guidance from Expert

It's not possible for you to know each and everything about a subject. You will need a guide who can make you understand certain topics better. You can also join any entrance test preparatory center. It can provide you expert guidance and techniques to handle difficult topics. You may also be provided with some study material by these preparatory centers.

Mock Tests

You should start taking mock tests as soon as you're done with your syllabus. Mock tests help in practicing papers similar to the main exam, and they can be taken in almost the same way as the actual exam. Solve as many mock tests as you can. The more you practice, the more it will increase your knowledge and boost your confidence.

Revision Strategy

Make a strategy for your revision. Revise all the topics you've already prepared, along with preparing the new topics. Revision in the last few days before the exam is very important. You will remember things more as you revise more. Revision will help you retain information for a longer time.

Last Month Strategy

Try to attempt full length sample papers in one go like in the final exam. It will help you become familiar with the exam pattern. Also, try to attempt it in the same time slot as your scheduled exam, and within the same time duration. Attempting mock tests will help you learn proper time management. Work on weaker sections and sections that are taking more time.
