About UGC NET Exam

UGC NET exam is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to fill up the vacant posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in various Indian Colleges and Universities. The responsibility to conduct the UGC-NET entrance exam was with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) until 2018 but the baton was passed on to NTA in the year 2019 to conduct the exam. An online examination, UGC-NET consists of two papers where the questions will be asked in an objective format. Conducted twice every year in the months of June and December, the purpose of this exam is to pick out those talents from a large pool of test-takers who can teach at the University level.

The UGC NET exam application form is released on the official website of NTA and the candidates are given a fair amount of time to fill up the UGC NET online application form. Every year only 6% of the total test-takers qualify the UGC NET exam which reflects how tough it is to crack this examination.

The aspirants, however, must have a Master’s degree with an aggregate of more than or equal to 55% to be eligible to apply for the UGC-NET entrance exam.
