The Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) has announced the result of the Indian Engineering Service (IES) Preliminary exam 2020 for the exam that was conducted on 5th January 2020. The roll numbers of the shortlisted candidates have been released by UPSC as part of the result announcement. Candidates who clear the Prelims become eligible for IES Mains Examination.

Results are declared online on the official website of UPSC.

Check for your name and roll number in the PDF file.
Selected candidates receive an email from UPSC stating their selection for the next round of examination along with the link of the e-admit card for Stage-II Mains Exam.
The same procedure will be followed to check the result of the Stage-II Mains Exam.
Candidates selected in the second stage will be eligible for the Personality Test round, which is the final round for IES/ESE 2020.
Cut-off is the minimum marks that the candidate should score in order to get selected for the next level of examination. A cut-off list will be released after the declaration of the Mains Exam Result. The overall UPSC ESE 2020 cut-off for final recommendation will be based on the performance of the candidates in Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Personality Test. The cut-off marks for UPSC ESE 2020 will approximately be 15% of the total marks.
