Preparation Strategy

Make a proper Time Table

It is very important that you make a timetable and stick to it and you will have an exact idea of what you are required to study and the time required for it.

Concept clarity rather than routes learning

It is essential that you have a clear idea of the formulas and concepts rather than rote learning of things for the papers. While you might require it for memorizing formulas it is important that for other stuff you make sure you clear your basics and concepts before moving on.

Prepare Notes

It is very important to make small notes or a comprehensive list of formulas on each covered topic and chapter which will come in handy at the time of revision. This will require you to be regular with your work but will surely make things easy at the time of revision.

Seek guidance

It is not possible for you to know everything in your syllabus, at least not at the time of preparation. Sooner or later you will run into a concept or so which will give you trouble and then it is best you seek guidance from an instructor or a teacher. It is necessary that you clear your doubts at regular intervals and don’t prolong things for long. Getting into a good coaching class is nothing to be ashamed off and if anything a regular coaching class will enable you to avoid roadblocks in your preparation.

Sample Papers

Even though there may be a complete change in the exam pattern or the expected questions altogether, it is important that you practice on the sample and previous years question papers of BBA course. You will know the existing pattern and have a fair idea of the type of questions to expect in the paper along with the time constraint.

Mock tests

The paper pattern, duration of the paper and the number of questions to be attempted in the given amount of time is not something you will be able to pick up on the day of the examination. A Mock Test tests a student’s abilities as it not only provides a similar feel of real exams but also helps in building speed and confident to face the exam. Furthermore, they can improve their performance to get an extra edge in actual exams.

Time management can be learned through thorough practice and regular test taking. So it is important that you practice it and practice it well.

Negative marking

Most the entrance examinations will have negative marking and everyone would suggest you stay clear of questions are not sure about. Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (APICET-2017) is conducted by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati on behalf of A.P. State Council of Higher Education for admission into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes in University colleges and their affiliated colleges for the academic year.

1) What is AP-ICET ?

Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) is conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for taking to admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) programs by state universities and professional colleges under the jurisdiction of A.P State Council of Higher Education .

2) What is the eligiblity criteria for APICET ?

Any recognized Bachelors Degree of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% marks. (SC/ST/BC candidates with 45% marks).

3) For how long is the APICET score valid ?

The APICET score is valid for just one year.

4) How do I apply ONLINE ?

Visit the APICET website and go through the information carefully. The entire information about APICET is provided there. Be ready with the “mandatory details” and then Click on “APPLY ONLINE” field. It will guide you through the whole process.

5) Why have you gone for Online Application Form submission this year ?

  • Online Application Form has many advantages.
  • Completing an Online Application Form is easy and fast as compared to the Printed Application Form and ICR/OMR sheet.
  • The Online submission of the Application Form will reduce the whole processing time for a student such as standing in endless queues at Banks / eSeva / Mee Seva to purchase Printed Application forms, take Demand Draft from bank, submission of completed Application form at the APICET office, unexpected delays, uncertainty and confusion due to posting/receiving of Hall Tickets.

For APICET, an Application form cannot be bought at designated centers and has to be submitted ONLY through ONLINE mode. Please visit the APICET website for more details.

7) When will the APICET results be declared ?

Results will be available on the website Last week of May.

8) Is APICET result based on ranking or percentile ?

The result is based on ranking.

9) I qualified in APICET. What should I do now ?

The candidates have to keep watching their local news papers for possible Admission Notifications released by the University. Students needs to have to apply to individual universities to appear for Counselling Session where they can choose their desired college and get admission.

10) I live outside Andhra Pradesh. Can I write the examination ?

Candidates outside Andhra Pradesh can also write ICET Examination provided they satisfy the Eligibility Rules.

11) Will there be any negative marking ?

No,there is no negative marking .

12) What is maximum Age Eligibility Criteria ?

There is no upper or lower age limit.

14) How many seats will be there for MCA/MBA ?

The number of seats in Colleges and Universities depends on the University. A detailed notification will be released by individual colleges few days after the release of ICET Examination Results.

15) I haven’t found the answer to my question in the FAQ’s, what should I do ?

You are advised to go through ALL details thoroughly on the official APICET website , Still if you do not find an answer to your question contact the APICET office. You can also send an e-mail to the Convener.apicet2016@gmail.com or contact at Phone : 0891 - 2579797.

16) I qualified in APICET. Will I get a seat ?

No. A Mere qualifying of ICET Examination does not guarantee a seat in any University / College. The Candidate may have to submit an application form and meet the requirements of the University to get admission. This Admission Notification will be released by individual universities few days after the release of APICET Results .

17) Is Andhra University NAAC accredited ?

The National Assessment and Accreditation Committee (NAAC) has awarded Andhra University an A-Grade with 3.6 score. AU stands second after Jadavpur University amongst state universities and fourth among all universities in the country with JNU and HCU leading the pack.
This is the third consecutive time that AU has received -Grade. On the whole, seven criteria were taken into consideration for the grading. However, it must be pointed out that AU's score did slip a notch in terms of points as it had previously scored 3.65 out of 4.

18) Which Universities and Colleges offer MCA/MBA Course ?

19) Do I have to put application to Colleges ?

Yes. Some Colleges needs a seperate application to be filled after the Counselling session at the University.

20) I have registered for the APICET as I am eligible, can I transfer the already paid Registration Fee to my friend ?

No, the Registration Fee cannot be TRANSFERED.

21) What if I don’t have an Email-id ?

Email-id is not a mandatory detail but desirable as you might be intimated important information about APICET from time to time to the given e-mail id.

22) If I arrive to the APICET Examination Hall late by 1 minute, will I be allowed to take the exam ?

The candidate aspiring for APICET examination will NOT BE ALLOWED into the examination hall if he/she is late by 1 minute. Hence, there is no scope for taking the exam. In view of the unwanted situations in the past, the candidates are advised to reach the Test Centre well in advance keeping in view the time required for traveling and traffic conditions.

23) I have pressed the Back/Refresh / ANY button during the Registration Fee Payment through Debit / Credit Card, will that speed up my payment process ?

It is strictly suggested to avoid the operation of Back / Refresh / ANY other buttons during the Registration Fee Payment through Debit/Credit Card, this will not only hamper the whole process but the application submission will be incomplete. Hence, you are advised to have patience during the Online Payment through Bank.

24) With the help of the AP Online acquired Transaction Id. I have started filling the Online Application Form. Unfortunately, I did not complete the process by clicking the “SUBMIT” button and the “Filled In Online Application Form” was not generated. Can I use the same Transaction Id. again and restart the filling of the Online Application Form ?

Yes, candidate can use the same Transaction Id. as long as you do not press the “Submit Application” button in Online Application Form.

25) What if I don’t have a Mobile number ?

Mobile number is a mandatory detail as your Transaction Id., Payment confirmation or any other future correspondence is through the correct Mobile number you enter. Hence, if you don’t have a Mobile number enter the mobile number of your Parents/ Guardian.

26) If I misplace my copy of the “Filled In Online Application Form”, how to get another copy of it ?

You can take a fresh printout of the “Filled In Online Application Form” from the website www.apicet.net.in by giving suitable details.

27) I did some mistake in filling the details in Online Application, then how to change ?

The candidates are highly expected to be extra careful while filling the ONLINE application form. However, some of the fields (excluding Regional Test Centre) in the Filled In Online Application Form can be edited if the candidate write a request letter with relevant proofs addressing CONVENER, APICET or send an e-mail to Convener.apicet@gmail.com, office.apicet@gmail.com

28) Do I need to post my application and attachments ?

No, Not Necessary.

29) After completing the ONLINE application process and generating printable Application form, will I be able to login again to change my application data ?

NO, after submission of the ONLINE application form, a “Filled In Application Form” is generated. The candidate should take a print of the application form and hence, cannot modify the data. Therefore, the candidates are highly expected to be extra careful while filling the ONLINE application form. However, some of the fields (excluding Regional Test Centre) in the Filled In Online Application Form can be edited if the candidate write a request letter with relevant proofs addressing CONVENER, APICET or send an e-mail to Convener.apicet@gmail.com, office.apice@gmail.com

30) I have missed to take a print of my ONLINE application at the end of my application process. How will I get access to it ?

You can take a copy by typing the appropriate details take a printout from the official Website by clicking “Print Your Filled In Application Form”.

31) I have paid the Registration Fee, but I do not wish to take the APICET exam due to unavoidable reasons. Is the Registration Fee Refundable?

No, the Registration Fee is NOT REFUNDABLE.

32) Can I exchange the Transaction Id. with my friend ?

No, the Transaction Id. is not TRANSFERABLE.

33) If I choose the Payment Gateway option, how do I submit the ONLINE Application form ?

Before selecting the Debit / Credit card payment mode for Registration fee, the candidate has to be ready with the required mandatory details. After payment, the ONLINE Application form will appear. Fill in all the mandatory details, read the declaration and SUBMIT

34) Should I upload any certificates ?

No, you do not have to upload any certificates.

35) Should I upload my photograph and signature ?

You need to upload the Photo (file size less than 30KB and JPG file format) and Signature (File Size less than 15KB and JPG file format) as and when prompted by the system during the online application form filling process.

36) How much is the Registration fee for APICET examination ?

  • Last date for submission of online applications without late fee of Rs.350/-
  • Last date for submission of online applications with late fee of Rs. 500/- +Registration fee
  • Last date for submission of online applications with late fee of Rs.2000/- +Registration fee
  • Last date for submission of online applications with late fee of Rs.5000/-+Registration fee
  • Last date for receipt of applications with late fee of Rs.10,000/- +Registration fee

37) How do I know that my application has been received and accepted after filling in the online application form ?

On successful submission of the online application form, you will immediately receive an SMS on your mobile phone with the Registration number. Further, your “Filled in Online Application form” containing all the details uploaded from database and typed by you along with Registration number and Barcode will be displayed instantly.

38) What are the various modes of payment of Registration fees ?

There are two modes of payment. The first mode is through AP Online and the other mode is through Debit Card / Credit Card. The locations of AP Online Centers are given in the APICET website.

39) What should I do with the “Filled in Application Form”?

The candidate has to take a print of the “Filled In Application Form”, keep a copy of this form and preserve it carefully. Use the Registration number printed in the “Filled In Application Form” for all future correspondence.

40) What are the mandatory details for filling in the Online Application Form?
