AP ICET eligibility criteria 2024 is prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and it is the minimum conditions a candidate needs to fulfill to be considered qualified to appear for the exam. Only candidates who meet the AP ICET eligibility requirements will be allowed to appear for the exam. The criteria include certain academic qualifications, percentage marks, and age-related requirements. A candidate must fulfill all of the mandatory minimum requirements to be eligible to appear for the AP ICET 2024 exam.

AP ICET 2024 Academic Qualifications

Applicants must have conducted a three graduate program in any relevant subject or its equivalent in the 10+2+3 sequence, which must be recognized by the University Grants Commission, as per the AP ICET eligibility criteria 2024. (UGC).

  • According to the AP ICET eligibility criteria, applicants in the General category must score 50 percent in proportion, while applicants in the Reserved category must score 45% to be allowed to qualify for AP ICET eligibility criteria 2024.
  • Those who completed their graduate degree through correspondence courses should be recognized by the Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE, and DEB, DEC, as per the AP ICET eligibility criteria.

The mere passing of an entrance exam does not qualify an applicant for admission to an MBA/MCA program unless the applicant:

  • Meets all of the AP ICET eligibility criteria for enrollment as specified by the relevant authority;
  • Appears to apply in reply to the committee's enrollment notification (for part-time/evening/distance mode); and
  • Appears for counseling at the designated location.

AP ICET 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Reservation

Positions will be reserved for the AP ICET 2024 by the state reservation policies established by the government. Clarification on the subject will be provided in the confirmation that will be distributed at the time of counseling.

Distinction of Reservation Based on Seat Category in AP ICET 2024

For Person with Disability

  • Reservation of AP ICET is available to people with 40% or more disability.
  • They must present a PH-Certificate from the District Medical Board.

NCC and Sports

  • Such candidates will be required to present original certificates issued by qualified authorities.

CAP People

  • The Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer's credential
  • Book of Discharge (in the case of Ex-Servicemen).
  • Service Certificate approved by Competent Authority for confirmation (in the case of Service Men).
  • Aspirants whose parents are Telangana residents depending on their Permanent Address/Home Town declaration. When they enlist in the military and as recorded in their Service Register, they are the only ones who are qualified to apply under the 'CAP' Category.

Anglo-Indian People

  • Such candidates must present a registration certificate issued by their residence's competent authority.

Who can apply for AP ICET?

The following candidates may apply for AP ICET:

  • Citizens of India who have completed graduation with at least 50% (45% in the case of reserved categories)
  • Candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor's degree whose results will be announced before the counselling process.
  • Candidates who have obtained their graduation degree through distance mode that has been recognized by the joint committee of UGC, AICTE, and DEC.
  • Candidates who have satisfied the local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh State Educational Institutions.
  • Candidates who had Mathematics as a main subject at the 10+2 level.

What is the minimum age to apply for AP ICET?

There is no age limit for AP ICET. Candidates from any age group are eligible to apply for AP ICET.

Can candidates from outside India apply for AP ICET?

No, it is mandatory for the candidates to be citizens of India to become eligible to apply for AP ICET. In addition, candidates must adhere to the local/non-local status requirements specified by the Andhra Pradesh State Educational Institutions. However, if candidates other than Indian Nationals wish to apply for AP ICET, they must at least satisfy the AP ICET eligibility requirements of the Universities concerned.

Is it necessary to clear a bachelor's degree with mathematics as the main subject to appear for AP ICET MCA?

Yes, candidates must have passed a Bachelor's degree of a minimum duration of 3 years with Mathematics as the main subject in the 10+2 level to appear for AP ICET. General category and reserved category candidates must score a minimum of 50% and 45%, respectively, with Mathematics at the 10+2 level.

Can final year candidates apply for AP ICET?

Yes, candidates in the final year of graduation can apply for AP ICET provided their results are released before the counselling process is conducted. General category candidates have to score 50% marks in the qualifying examination while reserved category candidates must possess a minimum aggregate of 45%.

Is the eligibility criteria of AP ICET same for general category as well as reserved candidates?

Yes, the eligibility criteria of AP ICET is the same for all categories, however, candidates from reserved categories will have to score only 45% marks in their Bachelor's degree programme. On the other hand, candidates belonging to the General Category must have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. 

What is the domicile requirement for AP ICET?

The applicants for AP ICET must be citizens of India. Candidates will have to fulfil the non-local/ local status laid down by Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Admission Regulations) Order, 1974, as amended.

I have secured 49% marks in BCA. Can I apply for AP ICET?

No, you are not allowed to apply for AP ICET with a 49% marks in BCA if you belong to the General Category. It is mandatory for the General Category candidates to score a minimum aggregate of 50% in their Bachelor's degree programme. However, if you belong to the SC/ST/Reserved Category, you can apply for AP ICET even with a minimum aggregate of 45% in BCA.
