Goa CET-BE 2016 Important Instructions

The Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa shall conduct Goa Common Entrance Test 2016 (GCET-16) for admissions to Professional Degree courses in Medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing (at Institute of Nursing Education)in the State of Goa, for the academic year 2016-17. This prospectus is uploaded on the website: www.dtegoa.gov.in of the Directorate of Technical Education. Applicants shall download, print and submit an application form for GCET-2016(Form A), at notified locations as per Centre opted, on specified dates, along with application fee of Rs. 1500/- payable vide demand draft drawn in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa, on any Scheduled Bank, and three identical photographs as indicated, and other relevant certificates (self-attested photocopies), to obtain the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee. Admit cards will be issued only to candidates in person. Applicants shall ensure that the validity of the Demand Draft is at least 3 months from the date of issue. All candidates desirous of seeking admissions to Professional Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing (at Institute of Nursing Education) in the colleges within the State of Goa (except AIQ & GOI) during the academic session 2016-2017, must appear and have a valid score in GCET-16, and should fulfil other eligibility criteria for admission as given in this prospectus. Merit list for these courses shall be based only on the GCET-16 score. Candidates who have already passed/have appeared, or are appearing at HSSC (Std. XII the Science) or equivalent examination, before the start of the academic session, are eligible to appear at GCET–16.

Goa CET-BE Application FAQ

1) What is GCET?

A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa for the candidates seeking admission to first year degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture in various colleges in Goa.

2) What is/are the college/colleges covered under GCET examination?

Many colleges and esteemed institutions offer admissions for its B.E courses via the GCET. The entire list of the participating institutes is given below:

  • Goa College of Engineering
  • Padre Conceiao College of Engineering
  • Don Bosco College of Engineering
  • Shree Rayeshwar Institute Of Engineering and Information Technology
  • Agnel Institute of Technology and Design.

3) I have filled up the form successfully but now, can I change/correct the details as entered in the Application form?

No change can be made at this stage in the application form. However, if the time is still left for filing up the online application form, the applicant can resubmit corrected application with the prescribed fee. In this case a new ID will be generated by the system. The fee paid previously will not be refunded. The latest application shall be treated as final.

4) If I got Blank/Zero Registration No after submission of application form then what I should do?

It means that the application form has not been submitted successfully and you are required to apply afresh.

5) What details should I retain after completion of successful submission of my form?

The candidate must have:

  • Hard copy of the filled-in form.
  • Fee receipt detail
  • Auto generated ID and Password.

6) When will I get my Admit Card?

The admit card will be available on the website of GCET only from first week of May (onwards). The applicant is required to print the admit card from the university Website.However, he/ she is required to bring a passport-size photograph (similar to that pasted on the application form) along with the admit card to the entrance-test center for verification.
