ILICAT 2017 - Application Steps

Application form
  • Candidates can download the Application form from the official website.
  • Or you can purchase Application form from the counter.
Complete the Applications Form

Open the Link on the web page and complete the application form like Name, User ID, Password, Category, Gender, E-mail ID, Security Question & Answer and Date Of Birth.

Payment of fees
  • In case of online submission of application form or downloaded from the website, The applicant is required to pay the fee of 2,500/- towards processing fee through Netbanking /Debit/Credit card and Demand Draft. 
  • If the Application form is purchased from the counter, the applicant is required to pay a Demand Draft of 1,500/- (Rupees two thousand) only towards processing fee. 
Submission of Application form

The Application Form completed in all respects should be submitted either online or in person or by Registered Post/Speed Post/Courier/ Messenger so as to reach the Registrar, Indian Law Institute, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi 110 001.

Eligibility for ILICAT 2017

LL.B. Degree (with not less than 50% marks) from any University/ Institution recognized by Bar Council of India as eligible for enrolment as an advocate in India. or A Law Degree from a foreign country with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade. The candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply but their admission will be subject to production of proof of having acquired minimum prescribed qualification, at the time of admission. If the result of the qualifying examination is not declared till the date of admission, his/her admission shall be provisional. Such candidate shall give an undertaking that he/she is taking the provisional admission at his/her risk and that he/she shall submit the result of qualifying examination on or before 2017. In case the candidate fails to submit his/her final resultof qualifying examination to prove his/her eligibility on or before 2017 for any reason whatsoever, his/her admission shall be treated as cancelled and the entire fee forfeited.

ILICAT 2017 Important Instructions

  • If it is found at any stage during the entire period of the programme that the candidate has furnished any false or incorrect information on the Application Form or at the time of admission, his/ her candidature for the programme will be cancelled summarily. In addition, disciplinary action may be taken against him/ her as per rules.
  • If it is found at any stage during the entire period of the programme that the candidate does not fulfil the requisite eligibility conditions, his/ her admission shall be cancelled and entire fee shall also be forfeited.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the entire premises of the Institute.
  • Ragging in any form shall be strictly prohibited within the premises of the Institute as well as on public transport or at any other place public or private. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/ her explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/ her from the Institution.
  • The Institute has a Sexual Harassment Committee in line with the directives issued by The Sexual Harassment at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act 2013.
  • The Institute has a very strict policy as regards Plagiarism in the Research Papers and Dissertation. No portion of the research work can be copied. The Institute may debar the student from the LL.M. Programme if the student is found guilty of plagiarism.
  • The candidates are requested to have a constant watch on the Institute's website for latest updates on all admission related matters. No individual communication will be sent to the selected candidates for admission. Refund of admission fee after admission will be done as per MHRD / UGC Guidelines from time to time.

ILICAT 2017 Relaxation Policy

1. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
15 per cent seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and 7 ½%
seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes. Any unfilled seats
reserved for Scheduled Castes will be treated as reserved for Scheduled Tribes and vice
versa. A certificate to this effect shall be attached with the application form.
 

2. Non Creamy Layer Other Backward Classes (OBC) students
27 per cent seats are reserved for candidates belonging to OBC. The OBC candidates if they wish to be considered under OBC Category should give Non Creamy Layer OBC declaration and undertaking with the application form for admission. The definition of Creamy Layer, the form of declaration and undertaking to be submitted by the OBC candidates.
 

3. Physically Handicapped
3 per cent seats are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates. A Certificate from the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for Physically Handicapped, I.T.I. Campus, Pusa,New Delhi – 110 012 or from any other Government Authorized Agency is required to be produced specifying that the applicant is fit to pursue LL.M. and P.G. Diploma programme.
 

4. Seats reserved for students coming from the State of Jammu & Kashmir
In pursuance of UGC guidelines conveyed vide letter no F.1-1/2012(SA-III) dated 19.10.2012, two supernumerary seats in all programmes have been created for admitting students coming from the State of Jammu & Kashmir.

1) What is ILICAT(Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test)?

ILICAT or Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test is conducted by Indian Law Institute for admission to two year LLM programme. It is a postgraduate law examination for conducted by one of country’s premier law institute. Students who have passed out from Indian Law Institute New Delhi have been placed in higher posts. It is a national level examination where students are selected purely on the common admission test.

2) Is the availability of forms will be online or can it be purchased from any bank or institution.

The application forms are available online . A candidate can apply by logging into official websiteeither online or in person or by Registered Post/ Speed Post/ Courier/ Messenger . Forms are not available in any bank or institution.

3) I have made mistakes in the application form, can I correct it?

Yes, corrections can be made.

4) I have forgotten my password, how to retrieve it?

Go through the “Forgot Password” link in the login window.

5) Which modes are available for fee payment?

Fee payment can be done through debit/credit card, net banking or through bank Challan.

6) If any candidate face problem in filling up of form, to whom can he approach?

Candidate can take the assistance of Facilitation Centres for submission of application form. Common Services Centres will act as the Facilitation Centres this time and will provide the services against the fee prescribed. 

7) Can a candidate change its centre city after allotment of roll number?

In no case, centre city can be changed.

8) If one does not get Admit Card, whom should he contact?

Admit cards will not be sent to candidates. These will be uploaded on website. Candidates need to download the Admit Card from the website only.
