JMI MBA 2016 - Application Steps

Create Login ID
Download Application Form from offical site. Register yourself as a New User, Clicking on “NEW USER SIGNUP HERE”. Then press the button Create User. The Candidates are advised to note down the user id and password which will be applicable for all future references regarding this examination’s /test’s and also for future notification’s /advertisement ‘s.
Completing the Online Form
Open the Link on the web page and fill personal information like Name, User ID, Password, Category, Gender, E-mail ID, Security Question & Answer and Date Of Birth. To register for admission candidates are required to use the online form available at JMI’s Admission Portal: ( Note:-Once the Admission Form is successfully submitted the system will send an email bearing the Unique Registration Number and Password to access the account to the registered email id. Using this Registration No. and Password, the candidate may login to the portal and proceed to apply for the program(s) of his/her choice and pay the Entrance Application Fees.
Uploading Scan Copy of Documents
During the Registration process, the following information/details should be available with the candidate:- a) A valid and readily accessible Email Id. Please note that, if required, JMI may use the registered email for future communication with the candidate. b) Softcopy of candidate’s coloured passport size photographm (Min 5 KB and Max 20 KB in size) in JPG/JPEG format with White Background. c) Softcopy of candidate’s signature (Min 5 KB and Max Size 10 KB in size) in JPG/JPEG format . Candidates may use the preview option to cross-check the correctness of entries filled by them online. Any required correction(s) except in “Name” and “Date-of-Birth” in the Registration Information may be made before depositing the Entrance Application Fees. Once the fee is paid no correction will be allowed in the Registration Information. However, candidates will be able to apply for additional programs, if required.
Payment of Fees
1.Choosing of Program(s), Category and Submission of Entrance Application Fee (Rs. 700/-). 2.The fee may be paid either by Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking or through E-Challan generated during the filling up of form online. In case of E-Challan the fee may be paid in any of the branches of Indian Bank. 3.The Application Fee once received successfully at JMI’s end is non-refundable and nocorrespondence on this subject will be entertained. 4.The JMI shall only refund the Application Fee in cases of failed transactions identified at JMI’s end. 5.A candidate is allowed to submit only ONE form for each program/group of programs (With Combined Entrance Test). Multiple submissions of form for the same program by a candidate may cause rejection of his/her candidature. 6.In case of submission of Online form through Cyber Cafe, the candidate is also advised to get the form filled in his/her presence and provide his/her contact information such as email and mobile number wherever required.

How to Apply for JMI MBA 2016

1. Create Login ID for the filling the application form for JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA MANAGEMENT (POST- GRADUATION)entrance test for MBA.
2. Fill all the personal information like Name, User ID, Password, Category, Gender, E-mail ID, Security Question & Answer and Date Of Birth in the application form.
3. Scanned all the Documents in required size and format. Documents may include Passport size photograph, Community/Caste Certificate (only if the applicant belongs to OBC/SC/ST), Educational Documents, Identity Proof, Domicile Certificate(if applicable) and other supporting documents as mentioned.
4. Pay the application fee online by mentioned bank in the Exam Details.
5. Downloads & Prints hall ticket from the Official Site.

Eligibility for JMI MBA 2016

Educational qualification

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) from a recognized University in any discipline with at least 50% Marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade

Age- N/A

Marks- At least pass in 10+2+3  with 50% marks

JMI MBA 2016 Important Instructions

  1. Use Blue/Black ball point pen.
  2. Write your Roll No. at the appropriate place immediately after receiving the question paper.
  3. Candidates must submit the question  paper and the  OMR sheet before leaving the hall.
  4. Candidates are required to maintain decorum of the examination hall.
  5. Candidates must not use any unfair means in the examination. If any such thing is found  during the course of the examination, his/her candidature will be cancelled.
  6. Do not put any identification mark on question booklet and answer sheet.

JMI MBA 2016 Relaxation Policy


General Guidelines

  1. Candidates seeking admission under reserved category can apply for reservation under ONE category only and shall be required to fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions of the Program.
  2. Relaxation in minimum prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying examination for admission to a Program shall be permissible only under one relaxation criteria.
  3. If a reserved category candidate qualifies the Entrance Test for admission under the General category,he/she shall be considered under the General category as well as the claimed reserved category. However, the admission to such candidate shall be given under one category only based on his/her standing in the
  4. merit list.

Muslim Minority
Vide Judgement dated 22.2.2011 in Case No. 1443 of 2006 (along with connected petitions), the Jamia Millia Islamia has been declared a Minority Educational Institution under Article 30 (1) of the Constitution of India read with Section 2 (g) of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Act by the Commission. As aconsequence thereof, the University shall provide for the following reservations:

  • 30% of the total number of seats in each Program shall be earmarked for Muslim applicants.
  • 10% of the total number of seats in each Program shall be earmarked for Women applicants who areMuslims.
  • 10% of the total number of seats in each Program shall be earmarked for “Other Backward Classes” (OBCs)and Scheduled Tribes who are Muslims, as per the list notified by the Central Government. 

Persons with Disabilities 

3% seats in all Programs in Jamia Millia Islamia shall be reserved for physically challenged persons in accordance with the provisions of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full
Prospectus Participation) Act, 1995 under the following categories (to the extent of 1% each, and interchangeable intra in case of non availability of eligible applicants):

  1. Blindness/low vision;
  2. Hearing impairment;
  3. Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy.
  • Unless and otherwise provided, only such candidates shall be considered under this category who are suffering from not less than 40% of disability as certified by a competent medical authority.
  • Provided that in the Faculty of Dentistry, candidates with only locomotory disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% will be considered. In case of unavailability of such candidates, unfilled seats in this 3% quota shall be filled up by persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% before they are included in the annual sanctioned seats for General Category candidates as per the D.C.I. Gazette notification. 

Internal (Jamia) Students 

5% seats in all Undergraduate Degree/Diploma/Certificate Programs shall be filled by internal students of Jamia who have passed their qualifying examination (X or XII) from Jamia Schools as regular students.

Outstanding Players
Seats in various courses shall be reserved or special provisions be made for outstanding players and procedure shall be adopted for the purpose of admission as per details given below or as may be decided from time to time by the Majlis-i-Talimi (Academic Council):

  1. The Office of the Director, Physical Education may be contacted for any admission related queries.
  2. Candidates seeking admission under sports category must have represented at International / National/State/Regional/University (in the tournaments organized by Association of Indian Universities) Level in the game they are claiming admission.
  3. At the time of submission of admission form under sports category, a trial slip containing the photograph of the player shall be issued which the candidate must bring at the time of the trial.
  4. Relaxation to the extent of 5% of marks in aggregate or in the subject concerned, as the case may be, will be given to such candidates.
  5. Such candidates shall be considered for admission by the Shaikhul Jamia (Vice-Chancellor) over and above the seats allotted to each course on the recommendation of the Games & Sports Committee.
  6. Candidates selected under sports category shall have to give a self-attested undertaking for their conduct/participation in practice/representing the university team at the time of admission.
  7. All the original sports certificates shall be kept in the custody of Office of the Games and Sports for at least one year.
  8.  Admission under sports category is limited to the following games: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Shooting, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Wrestling.
