How to Apply for MAT 2018

  • Register online at official website link of AIMA.
  • The candidate to fill the Online Application Form, has to upload his/her recent passport size photograph with required format (pixels,.jpg) without any charges.
  • All filled-in forms or printout of online registration if required to be sent; received at AIMA will be processed within 5 days.   
  • The Candidates will also upload the scanned copies of the required documents.
  • The Payment of application fees is done through Credit Card/Debit Card (ATM Card)/ Net Banking OR Demand Draft by payment of Rs.1652/- (Inclusive of GST).
  • The candidate shall take printout of the form and sign it after completing the application form.

Eligibility for MAT 2018

  • Graduates in any discipline.
  • Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.

MAT 2018 Important Instructions

  • Candidates are to report to the allotted test centre at least 45 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the test.
  • Neither any candidate will be admitted 15 minutes after the commencement of the test nor any extra time granted for completing the test.
  • Candidates are to be in possession of the following when reporting to the test centre:-
  • Documents: Admit Card duly completed.
  • Writing Materials: Ball Point Pen, HB Pencils, Eraser, and Sharpener.
  • The test room will be opened about 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. The candidates are to be seated at the allotted place.
  • Your Admit Card will be verified during the test. One part of Admit Card will be given to you as proof of your having appeared in the test. Please ensure that this is duly signed by you and the test invigilator.
  • It is your responsibility to make certain that you understand and follow the directions for answering. AIMA can accept the responsibility of scanning / capture your answer accurately only if it is completed in accordance with directions.
  • Take the questions in order, but do not waste time pondering over those that seem extremely difficult or unfamiliar to you. A wise practice is to first answer the questions you are sure of. Then, if you complete the test before time is called, go back and reconsider any questions about which you were uncertain.
  • Although the MAT stresses on accuracy more than speed, it is important to use the allotted time wisely. Make every effort to pace yourself by making yourself familiar with the mechanics of the test.
  • The directions explain exactly what each set of questions requires to answer those questions. Read all test directions carefully. Read each question carefully and thoroughly. Before answering a question, determine exactly what is being asked.
  • Calculator, Pager, Mobile, etc are not permitted inside the test room.Candidate will be allowed to leave the test room after the completion of test and only after permitted by the invigilator. If you wish to leave the room during the test, you must have the invigilator’s permission. You will not be permitted to make up the time you lose.
  • AIMA reserves the right to cancel the admission/entry to the test/withhold the results of nay candidate who impersonates/uses unfair means during the test. This is without prejudice to any other action that can be initiated.
  • Non-adherence to any instructions or failure to comply with any rules governing the conduct of test will lead to cancellation of your candidature.
  • All disputes pertaining to any aspect of the test will be settled through any arbitrator, who shall be appointed by the Director General, AIMA. Further, all legal cases pertaining to any matter of the test will be dealt with under the jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only.

PAPER-BASED TEST:

  • The candidate will be provided a sealed Question Booklet and an OMR Answer Sheet. Do not open the Question Booklet until announced.
  • Fill the necessary information in the space provided on the cover of the Question Booklet and the Answer Sheet before the commencement of the test.
  • The candidates are to sign the attendance sheet during the test duly endorsing the Question Booklet Series as given on the Question Booklet and other details.
  • Answers are to be marked on the Answer Sheet, which is provided separately. Choose the correct option and darken the oval completely corresponding to (1), (2), (3) and (4) against the relevant question number. Use only HB Pencil to darken the oval for answering. Please do not darken more than one oval against any question, as scanner will not read the same correctly.
  • Rough work, if any, is to be done on the Question Booklet only. No separate sheet will be provided /used for rough work.
  • MAT Answer Sheet is scanned by machine and scores are computed. Accuracy in scoring is dependent on the examinees marking their answer sheets properly and the completeness of their erasures when used. Therefore accurate scoring is dependent on your strict adherence to the following points:
  • No credit will be given for the answers marked in the question booklets.
  • Use HB pencil to complete the answer sheet. Please do not darken more than one oval against any question, as the scanner will not read the same.
  • If you wish to change any answer, erase completely one already marked and darken the fresh oval/circle with an HB pencil.
  • Do not tear, bend or mutilate the answer sheet.
  • Be sure that you accurately mark all identification and question booklet series.
  • At the conclusion of the test, you should hand over your Question Booklet and Answer Sheet to the invigilator.
  • Appropriate civil/criminal proceedings will be initiated against applicant found taking or attempting to take the full or part of the Question Booklet or Answer Sheet outside the test room.

MAT Application FAQ

1) What is the MAT exam?

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level management entrance examination. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003.The exam is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). More than 600 B-Schools accept MAT?exam scores.

2) What is AIMA?

AIMA is a group- a body to pool management thoughts in the country, a forum to develop a national managerial ethos, an organisation to facilitate the furtherance of the management profession in the country. AIMA is a federation of Local Management Associations (LMAs).

3) What is the cost of the Bulletin / CD with registration Form? /How to Apply?

Candidate can choose any one of the three modes to apply: Register online at website  with Credit Card or Debit Card(ATM Card) payment of Rs.1,400/-. Detailed procedure is given on the website link. Or Obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.1,400/- in favour of “All India Management Association”, payable at Delhi from any bank. Or Obtain Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1200/- from listed Study Centres of AIMA or from AIMA, New Delhi.

4) What is the last date of submitting filled in MAT Registration Form?

Last date for submission is mentioned in the MAT bulletin. The last date also appears in the notification released by AIMA in various national & regional newspapers.

5) When & how many times MAT is conducted in a year?

MAT is usually conducted 4 times in a year in February, May, September and December.

6) What is the mode of test?

Candidate can choose any one of the two options to take the test: Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test.

7) What are the test dates and timings of the test?

The Paper Based Test is being conducted on the first Sunday of the February, May, September and December from 10:00-12:30 hours. Whereas the Computer Based Test is being conducted from Saturday onwards (6 days after the Paper Based Test date) and in different Time slots.

8) Do applicant has to buy the prospectus of the MI’s opted by him/her?

For applying to MI’s it is suggested that the prospectus of the MI’s opted should be bought.

9) Is MAT held all over the country what about a person living abroad? Can he/she apply for it?

MAT is conducted in all major cities in the country and in leading cities abroad. For further clarification, see MAT bulletin or contact our information centre. Test Venues for Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test are different. If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is few/limited, these candidates appears for the paper Based Test on first Sunday of the test month only. One candidate can appear only for one date for the MAT.

10) When will I get my Admit Card?

Admit card will be available for view and print from December 03, 2016 (Onwards). You will have to log onto the MAT website with your registered User ID. You will be eligible for an Admit Card only upon submission of online application form. You will receive an automated email confirmation upon successful submission.

11) What details will be mentioned in the Admit Card?

The admit card will contain the following details: Name of the candidate Test date Test City & Centre address User ID / Registration Number PWD/DA status.

12) Do we get a separate Admit Card for appearing in MAT?

All provisionally registered candidates can down load their Admit Card from AIMA website 7 days before the Paper Based Test date. Specific Admit Card will be generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test. Admit Card would be having Candidate Name, Form No, Roll NO, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to them in the case of Computer Based Test. This Admit Card contains Test Centre Address with Center Code, Form No and Roll no of the test. No separate special card is issued. Also, activation of a test centre depends upon the minimum no of registration.

13) I have selected paper based test, will I get a separate Admit Card?

Specific admit card will be allotted to the candidates opted for paper based test and computer based test. Candidates opted for computer based test, strictly have to follow the date and time allotted to them.
