NEST Eligibility Criteria 2024: NISER and UM-DAE CEBS have released the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2024 eligibility criteria. According to the latest NEST 2024 eligibility criteria, candidates who are qualified in Class 12 from any recognized board with 60% of marks are eligible to apply for the NEST 2024 exam. Candidates who belong to the SC, ST, or PwD categories must have secured at least 55% marks. Candidates must be from the science stream and have studied at least three subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics in classes 11 and 12 as per NEST eligibility criteria 2024. Candidates of Unreserved and OBC categories must have been born on or after August 01, 2004. There is an age relaxation for SC/ST and Divyagjan Candidates for 5 years as per NEST 2024 eligibility criteria. Candidates must qualify the exam and should be on the NEST 2024 merit list to obtain admission.

The NEST eligibility criteria 2024 are specified below:

NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

  • Candidates must be a Citizen of India.

  • NRI students or PIO or OCI candidates are not eligible to apply for the NEST 2024 exam.

  • Candidates from J & K, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana states have a quota of 15%.

NEST Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit

  • General and OBC category applicants born on or after 1st August 2002 are eligible to apply for NEST 2024.

  • SC/ST/PwD applicants with a birth date on or after August 1, 1996 are eligible for a five-year relaxation.

NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria: Number of attempts

  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts for NEST 2024 examination.

NEST Eligibility Criteria 2024: Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should be from the regular science stream with the only combination of at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics in classes 11th and 12th.

  • Candidates should have passed the class 12th examination or equivalent from any recognized Board in India in the year 2022 or 2023 or must be appearing in the same in 2024.

  • Final-year applicants are also eligible for NEST 2024 as per NEST eligibility criteria 2024.

Note: Those candidates who are appearing for the board examination in 2024 must pass it by the time of admission into the programme.

NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria: Minimum Marks Required

  • Candidates should secure at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent in class 12th examination.

  • The minimum mark requirement for candidates in the reserved (SC/ST/PwD) categories has been relaxed to 55% in aggregate.

  • Candidates, who have only letter grades available, will have to submit a certificate from the respective Board which specifies the equivalent percentage of marks.

A percentage of the total number of seats in both NISER and CEBS 2024 eligibility is reserved for reserved category candidates. The following categories are accepted by NISER and CEBS for admission as per NEST eligibility criteria 2024:

  • SC (Scheduled Caste) / ST (Scheduled Tribe)

NEST 2024 Application Form

The officials will release the NEST 2024 Application Form in March 2024 along with the NEST 2024 eligibility criteria. Candidates will be required to fill out the NEST application form in order to appear in the exam. NEST 2024 Admit Card

The NEST admit card 2024 will be released by the officials on the NEST exam website. Candidates who successfully filled out the NEST application will be able to download the admit card. To download NEST 2024 admit card, candidates will require their registration credentials. The NEST admit card will include personal details, exam date and time, exam centre name and address, and exam day guidelines. All the candidates will be required to carry the NEST admit card to the exam centre. 

NEST 2024 Answer Key

The NEST answer key 2024 will be released for the aspirants to know the exam answers. Candidates will be able to check the answer key on the NEST official website by logging in with their email and login credentials. The NEST 2024 cutoff will be released in two categories - Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) and Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP). Candidates will be able to download the NEST cutoff 2024 from the official website. Once the cutoff process is complete, candidates will be able to choose the desired college for admission.
