PMUET 2017 - Application Steps

Create Login Id
  • Go to the official website for  the application form and admission brochure.
Fill up the Application form
  • Fill the appication form with these necessary details like:
    • Affix photograph
    • Applicant’s information
    • Blood Group
    • Name
    • Gender
    • Nationality
    • Date of Birth
    • Engineering branches
    • Mobile No.
    • Applicant’s contact details for correspondence
    • Parents’ contact details
Uploading Scan Photograph, Signature
  • Photograph must be a recent (not more than three months) colour photograph with light background.
  • For upload of candidate signature, the signature must be done by the candidate himself/herself in a white paper with a black pen.
  • The image should be of .jpg or .jpeg format.
Payment of Fees
  • Amount of fees
    • Rs. 600 /- for general
    • Rs. 500 /- for SC/ST.

How to Apply for PMUET 2017

The Candidates have to register themselves at Official Website. The candidates may access the How to Apply Document, general instructions and the explanation for filling the required fields through the link in the website. However, these instructions are reproduced as under.

General Instructions for Registration

  • All the details asked for in Registration /Application form are Mandatory.
  • E-mail ID and mobile number should remain the same till the Admission process is completed
  • An Email ID once used for Registration online cannot be used again.
  • Details given at the time of registration cannot be edited later on in the application form. Please review all details entered at the time of registration before CLICKING ON SUBMIT BUTTON and proceeding to the application form.
  • After successful registration, you will receive the User id and Password on your Mobile Number and Email id which is unique & system generated. Log in with your unique USER ID and PASSWORD to complete the application process. Click on EDIT button (Right-hand top corner) to be directed to Application Form
  • Kindly use Internet Explorer(version 7 to 11) or Mozilla Firefox(14 to 34) or Google Chrome(20 to 36) to fill in the Application Form. Also, clear your browsing history and cache and retry in case you are facing any technical issue in viewing the details in application form.

GUIDELINES FOR UPLOADING IMAGES/DOCUMENTS IN APPLICATION FORM

Follow the guidelines strictly for scanning and uploading of the photograph, signature and other required documents.

 Photograph:

  • The photograph must be a recent (not more than three months) color photograph with a light background.
  • The same image/photo should be used for all the subsequent processes such as in the Test Admission Ticket.
  • The photograph should have a full face view looking into the camera directly. The main features of the face must not be covered by the hair of the head, any cloth or any shadow.  
  • Forehead, Eyes, Nose and Chin should be clearly visible
  • The photograph should be in.JPEG image format.
  • The Scan image should be less than 80 kb and should be of 30mm*45mm dimension.
  • Before submitting the form please check if the uploaded image is clear and meeting all norms mentioned above on the Preview page.

Signature of Candidate:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully before filling up the online Application Form

General Instructions for filling the Online Application Form:

  • Once the application form is submitted online, request for any change in the data entered in the application form will NOT be entertained; hence the candidates are cautioned to be careful while filling the Online Application Form
  • Ensure that Online Application Form is filled properly with all complete details. Click on “PREVIEW” button and re- verify all the particulars in the application form before clicking on SUBMIT button.
  • Incomplete/incorrect applications are liable to be rejected at any stage without prior information to the candidate.
  • Multiple application forms from the same candidate will result in confusion leading to disqualification of the candidate.
  • ERA Foundation is not responsible for any error that the candidate commits while filling the Online Application Form.
  • The Application fee of Rs. 600 /- for General Category and Rs. 500/- for ST/SC/PWD through Demand Draft drawn in favor of " The Registrar, PMU" which is payable at Thanjavur or Online.

M.Tech – Construction Engineering and Management (3 Years)

A Degree in B.E / B.Tech Civil or B.Arch equivalent

M.Tech- Structural Engineering

A Degree in B.E / B.Tech Civil or B.Arch equivalent

M.Tech – Wireless Communication Systems (3 Years)

A Degree in B.E / B.Tech. (ECE / TeleCommunication/ IT/EEE) or equivalent.

M. Tech – Nano Technology (2 Years)

A Degree in B.E/B.Tech (Electronics, Electrical, and Electronics, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Chemical or M.Sc. With Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent).

M.Tech – Power Electronics and Drives (2 Years)

A Degree in B.E / B.Tech (EEE / ECE / E&I / I & C / Electronics / Instrumentation or Equivalent).

M.Tech – Renewable Energy (2 Years)

A Degree in B.E / B. Tech (Mech /Chemical /Bio-tech / Electro Chemical / Electrical) or equivalent.

M.Tech – Automation and Controls (2 Year)

A Degree in B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical /Chemical Biotechnology / Electro Chemical /Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

M.Tech – Computer Science and Engineering (2 Years)

PMUET 2017 Important Instructions

  • Report 120 minutes before the commencement of the test (i.e. report by 8:00 AM on exam date) for scrutiny of documents.
  • The test center will be opened 60 minutes before the commencement of the test. Candidates are expected to take their seats immediately. If candidates do not report in time, they are likely to miss some of the general instructions.
  • The candidate must show, on demand, the Test Admission Ticket for admission in the Examination Hall. A candidate who does not possess the Test Admission Ticket downloaded from the PMU website shall not be admitted to the test center under any circumstances.
  • During the test, the invigilator will check the Test Admission Ticket of the candidates to validate the identity of each candidate. The invigilator will also put his/her signature in the place provided in the Test Admission Ticket.
  • In the test center, the candidate must occupy his / her specific place assigned by the invigilators. If a candidate is found taking the test from a place which is not assigned to him/her, his/her candidature is liable to be canceled.
  • Test commences at 10:00 AM.
  • After 09:30 AM candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall to take the test.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the scheduled time.
  • PMU is not responsible for any delay by any means of transportation to reach the test center beyond the prescribed time and that the candidate will not be allowed to enter the test center and take the test in the event of delay beyond the prescribed time. It is advisable to reach the Test Location early.
  • Candidates are advised in their own interest not to carry any of the personal computational devices, Bluetooth devices, cell phones, any electronic gadgets etc. to the venue of the examination as an arrangement for safe-keeping of the same cannot be assured. The aforesaid items are barred from being carried into the test center.
  • Candidates must not carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers, any electronic gadgets except the Test Admission Ticket and an acceptable photo ID inside the test center
  • There is no provision for re-examination for any reason for candidates who fail to appear for the test on scheduled date and time.

1) What is PMUET?

PMUET (Periyar Maniammai University Entrance Test) is an entrance test conducted by Periyar Maniammai University for admission into various under graduate and post graduate programs such as B. Arch, B. Tech, M. Tech, MBA, MCA, M. Sc, MA, M. Phil, MSW and B. Ed offered by the Periyar Maniammai University and its affiliated colleges. Periyar Maniammai University Entrance Test (PMUET) is being conducted every year in the month of April.

2) How can I reach your university ?

  • Trichirappalli is the nearest International Airport. It takes 2 hours to reach our campus
  • Thanjavur Junction is the nearest railway station. It takes half an hour to reach our campus from there
  • Thanjavur old bus stand is 12km away from university and new bus stand is 6km from the university.
  • Our University representatives will receive you from either Old bus stand/New bus stand/Thanjavur Junction.

3) What is the admission procedure for PUMET M.tech?

The admission to M.Tech (Regular) shall be done with:
Criteria I: 50% of the seats shall be based on Uni-GAUAGE EMeD PG Exam scores and the marks obtained in the Qualifying examination as per the Rules and Regulations of Statutory
Bodies.
Criteria II: 50% of the seats shall be based on the normalized marks obtained in the Qualifying examination as per the Rules and Regulations of Statutory Bodies.

4) Where can I get the application form for PMUET ?

Candidate who want to take up the PMUET entrance test can get the application form from the university or from the information centers and can send the filled application form along with the DD by drawn in favor of "The Registrar, Priyar Maniammai University" to the address mentioned in the prospects. Candidates can also download the application form from the official site and Rs. 50 waived for online application.

5) How to make payment of PMUET application fee through Challan?

The applicants are required to print both PMUET application form and challan, carry both to bank for payment. They need to submit hard copy of application form along with the copy of stamped challan.

6) How can we get the hall ticket?

Candidates can download the hall ticket from the website.

7) When to take print outs of their Application Form?

After submission of application form along with application fee structure prescribed by the university, candidates are advised to take print outs of their PMUET Application Form and keep them safe for future references.

8) The admit card has been issued but I am unable to login. What should I do now?

Not to worry, when the admit card is released the website crashes down due to high traffic. The conducting body will take the appropriate measures to resolve the issue.

9) How to Check the Application Status of registered candidates?

In order to check the application status, registered candidates need to enter their Registration Number and Date of Birth.

10) I forgot my application number, how do I download my admit card?

It can be downloaded by submitting e­mail id and DoB. However, check the confirmation page of the application form, the required number will be given there.
