SAAT(MCA) 2016 Important Instructions

The SAAT – 2016 will be held at different centres as per the schedule. The medium of examination is English. The examination hall shall be opened to the candidates half an hour before the examination commences. No candidate will be allowed to enter into the examination hall without a valid original / duplicate admits card. Candidates are required to take their respective seats at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination, strictly according to the sitting chart notified earlier by the Centre Superintendent. In any case, a candidate shall be allowed to enter the examination hall after the examination starts. Attendance will be taken by the invigilators on the Attendance Roll sheets provided by the Director (Admissions), with full signature of candidates against their Roll Numbers, 15 minutes before the commencement of examination. During the examination, the candidates have to enter their Roll Number, the Application Number and the Answer Sheet and also Serial Number on the Attendance Roll sheets, which shall be verified by the invigilators. No candidate will be allowed to leave the hall without surrendering his/ her question booklet and answer sheet until the examination is over. Ordinarily no candidate shall be allowed to leave the hall temporarily during the examination. Candidates suffering from any disease which renders their presence in the examination hall undesirable in the interest of other candidates will not ordinarily be allowed to enter the examination hall. Candidates are not allowed to have substitute writers, normally. Candidates should bring their own black / blue ball pens, HB pencils for writing and blackening the circles. Books, printed papers (other than their Admit Cards), manuscripts, or electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, cell phones and electronic diary calculators etc, should not be taken into the examination hall. The candidates are advised to check the perfectness the question booklet and answer sheet before attempting to answer. In case page/pages are found missing, torn or not in order, the candidates should immediately report to the invigilator and get a fresh question answer book issued after surrendering the defective ones. Candidates are not permitted to talk to each other in the examination hall. No one should receive any help from or assist another in any manner. Malpractice in any form detected during or after the examination would lead to not only cancellation of candidature but also more severe punishment as deemed fit by the SAAT–2016 committee. A candidate should write his/her roll number as assigned in his/her admit card and sign in the space provided in the question booklet and answer sheet. He/she should in any case write anywhere else on the answer sheet his/ her own name, roll number or anything else that is not strictly related to the answers to the questions given. Writing of any such thing a serious offence. The answer sheet without the candidate’s roll number clearly written in the space provided will not be examined. A candidate wishing to say anything should stand up in his/her seat and remain standing till the invigilator attends him/her. He/she should in no case leave the seat or make any noise to draw the invigilator’s attention. In any other matter not mentioned in these rules, the Centre Superintendent is empowered to take necessary decisions.

1) What is SAAT ?

Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT) is conducted by Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University (SOAU), Bhubaneswar for taking admission to various under graduate and post graduate programs. SAAT is held at 72 centers across 50 cities of India.

2) How to apply for SAAT ?

Candidates can apply online.

3) Should I upload my photograph and signature?

You need to upload the Photo (File size less than 30KB and .jpg file format) and Signature (File size less than 15KB and .jpg file format) as and when prompted by the system during the online application form filling process.

4) Do I need to post my application and attachments?

No, Not Necessary.

5) I have made mistakes in the application form, can I correct it?

Yes, corrections can be made.

6) I have forgotten my password, how to retrieve it?

Go through the “Forgot Password” link in the login window.

7) When will I get my Admit Card?

  • Admit card will be sent by speed post about 10 days prior to the entrance. Candidate can also download their Admit cards from the University website.
  • The candidate is required to produce a valid identity proof (as mentioned in the application form and Admit Card) along with printed Admit Card.
  • Candidates must preserve the admit card till the admission process is over.

8) I forgot my application number, how do I download my admit card?

It can be downloaded by submitting e­mail id and DoB. However, check the confirmation page of the application form, the required number will be given there.

9) What do the candidates need to bring to the exam centre?

The candidate is required to bring following at the examination centre:-

  • Admit Card along with passport size photograph affixed on it;
  • One Post Card Size Photograph affixed on the proforma and
  • One passport size photograph to be affixed on attendance sheet. Candidates are advised not to bring any other item at the examination centres. There will not be any arrangement for safe keeping of any material at the centre.  

10) I have completed the online application. But, I have not taken a print out. How can I get a print out now?

You can go to the applying online page again and enter the personal details AND the application number. You will be taken to the printout page again.
