LFAT 2024 Counselling Process

LFAT 2024 Counselling Process: The LFAT 2024 counselling process will be conducted by the University of Allahabad. The counselling process typically begins within 3-4 weeks after the LFAT results are declared. Applicants who meet the LFAT cutoff or have scored more than the cutoff marks are eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Candidates who have qualified the CUET are eligible to complete the registration process which is the first stage of the counselling. The other major steps include document uploading, document verification, seat allotment, fee submission, and college reporting.

Documents Required for LFAT 2024 Counselling Process

Aspirants must carry the below documents with them to LFAT counselling. If the candidates are without these documents at the time of admission, then their admission claim will not be entertained - 

  • High School mark sheet or similar recognised examination mark sheet 
  • High School certificate in original and a photocopy thereof. 
  • Intermediate mark sheet or equivalent recognised examination mark sheet 
  • Intermediate Certificate in original and a photocopy thereof. 
  • Graduation mark sheet or equivalent examination mark sheet
  • Graduation Certificate in original and a photocopy (if applicable). 
  • Original Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate for regular candidates at the Qualifying Examination / affidavit duly attested by a Notary / Public Commissioner for private candidates at the Qualifying Examination. 
  • Examination Hall Ticket / Admit Card issued by the University.

Below are some additional documents that the candidates must provide to claim reservation weightage or any other special consideration - 

  • For SC/ST, EWS and OBC Non-creamy layer category candidates - Recent Caste certificate / Category certificate in original plus a photocopy on Central Government format. 
  • For Kashmiri Migrants - Original along with a photocopy of the Kashmiri Migrants certificate issued by competent authority for Kashmiri Migrants. 
  • For NCC candidates - Original and a copy of the NCC 'C' certificate.
  • For Sports quota candidates - Sports quota candidates must provide an original and a photocopy of a certificate demonstrating significant contribution to sports at the national and state levels. The Board will question the candidate at the time and place specified by the Advisory Committee, Sports Board, University of Allahabad. 
  • For the applicants of Divyang Quota - Divyang Quota applicants must submit an original and a photocopy of a certificate of physical disability granted by the Chief Medical Officer of a District Hospital or the Viklang-Kendra, Prayagraj, as well as an appearance before a Board of Doctors to assess the severity of disability / challenge on a date and location determined by the Dean Students' Welfare. Admission will be based on a list suggested by the University of Allahabad's Medical Board / Assessment Committee.
  • Income certificate of the parent / guardian provided by the appropriate authority / officer in case the student's Annual / Family Income is a factor for any claim.

Step by Step Counselling Process of LFAT 2024

The counselling process of LFAT 2024 consists of several steps. The detailed process has been explained below.

Step 1: Registration for the LFAT Counselling Process

The candidates who are shortlisted after the cutoff is released will have to register for the LFAT counselling either in the online or offline mode. During the registration process, they will be required to provide all information as per the instructions given in the call letter.

Step 2: Uploading the Documents

The candidates will have to submit all the documents that are necessitated by the Allahabad University counselling authorities. Those who attend the counselling offline will have to produce original documents while those who participate in online counselling can upload scanned copies of their documents. The list of documents required for LFAT 2024 counselling has been provided above.

All the documents submitted by the applicants will be verified during the LFAT counselling process. The verification process is conducted to ascertain the eligibility of the candidates for admission to the BA LLB programme.

Step 3: Submission of Admission Fee

The candidates who are allotted seats in the counselling process after the document verification process will have to submit the admission fee to lock the seat. 
The institution will select applicants solely based on merit and preference. After the validation stage is finished, applicants will be notified of their admission status. Candidates will be asked to pay the course fee and finish the admission requirements once their admission has been validated.

LFAT 2024 Counselling / Allahabad University Law Admission 2024 Counselling - Seats availability

  • Allahabad University has 375 seats (approximate) available in the course (Faculty of Law).
  • There are approximately 300 open seats for C.M.P. degree colleges.
  • There are around 300 seats available at Allahabad Degree College (A.D.C.).
  • The number of seats may vary depending on the Bar Council of India's decision.

LFAT 2024 Counselling - Reservation policy

Seats will be allocated for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates in all disciplines / courses for which the Admission Test has been held.

Reservation and Special Consideration / Quota

  • Applicants from the Scheduled Caste (SC) category will be given 15% of the total seats in each subject / course.
  • Aspirants from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category will be given 7.5% of the total seats in each subject / course.
  • Candidates from the Other Backward Caste (OBC) category will be given 27% of the total seats in each topic / course.
  • If the seats allotted for Scheduled Tribe (ST) category candidates remain vacant due to their non-availability, they would be replaced by Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.
  • Eligible candidates from the EWS category will be given 10% of the available seats. Reservation for EWS applicants will be granted by the University in compliance with Government of India guidelines, UGC regulations, and rules.

Kashmiri Migrants 

Kashmiri migrants would be given weightage in accordance with Government of India rules. To be eligible for this weightage, aspirants must produce a certificate from an officer of the Ministry of Education with a position no lower than Joint Secretary or equivalent.

NCC Weightage

In the Entrance Test, a 5% weightage will be applied to the score attained by the applicant possessing an NCC 'C' certificate.

Foreign Nationals / NRI

Foreign nationals must apply through the International Students Advisor in compliance with the University of Allahabad's procedures. In this case, the candidate will not be required to take the Admission Test / Entrance Test, but will be regarded for admission on the suggestion of a committee created for this purpose, which will examine the candidate's academic credentials and certificates before making recommendations. 

Sports Quota 

Under the Sports Quota, only candidates who are capable of participating in Inter-University Tournaments as per the rules of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, and have participated in State and National Championships organised by the School Games Federation of India and Junior Level (under 19 years of age) District, Region, State and National Championships organised by various District / State Associations can be considered for admission.

  • Applicants will be picked according to merit, subject to seat availability.
  • The Advisory Committee, Sports Board, University of Allahabad reserves the right to conduct field trials and verify the authenticity of any candidate's documents.
  • At the time of admission / interview, the candidate must present all original game / sports certificates in support of their claim.
  • The University secures the right to verify the documents, and, if found to be fraudulent, appropriate action will be taken against the candidate.
  • According to University policy, the Sports Quota will fill 2% of the total seats.
  • Admission under a separate quota will be based solely on the merit list provided by the Sports Board's advisory committee.

Person with Disability (Divyang)

According to the rules, all Government institutions of higher education and other higher education institutions receiving government aid must reserve at least 5% of their seats for people with benchmark disabilities. As a result, 5% of the total seats for this course will be reserved for people with disabilities.
