JEE Mains score cards consist of a candidate's marks and whether or not they qualify to appear for JEE Advanced, if eligibility conditions are met.

Rank lists are prepared basis normalisation of scores for admission to B.Tech/ B.E. as well as B.Arch/B. Planning courses in institutes other than IITs. JEE (Main) Rank Card indicates the All India Rank, State Rank as well as the Category Rank along with the total marks and marks in each paper.

In case there is a tie between two or more candidates, inter-se merit will be considered.

Counselling Process:

JEE Main 2017 counselling process for admissions to IIITs, NITs, as well as GFTIs is jointly conducted by JoSAA which is the Joint Seat Allocation Authority.

In 2016, JoSAA conducted 6 rounds of counselling and seat allotment for admissions. Before they appear in JEE Main 2017 counselling, the candidates must fill their choices as per the counselling schedule of JEE Main 2017.

The verification of documents would be done at the time of counselling/admission. The purpose would be to verify a variety of records related to identification, age, qualifying examination, category, state of eligibility of the candidate. If a candidate fails to produce any of the authentic documents, their candidature will not be considered valid for admission.

SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates will be required to produce original certificate issued by the competent authority at the time of counselling.

All the participating institutes which do not use the centralised counselling procedure usually prepare their own ranking based on the performance in JEE (Mains) and other criteria.
