## SRMJEEE(B.Tech) Exam Prepartions FAQ

**1) What is the eligibility for applying for SRM B.Tech programs?**

- Candidates must have passed class XII (or equivalent exam) in regular stream from any State Board/CBSE/ISCE/Matriculation/NIOS.
- Those appearing in class XII or equivalent exam in regular stream from any State Board/CBSE/ISCE/Matriculation/NIOS are also considered eligible for the entrance exam.
- For admissions in Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani campuses, the candidates must have secured minimum 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry (PCM) in the qualifying exams.
- For admissions in NCR, Delhi campus, they must have obtained a minimum aggregate marks of 55% in PCM.
- For admissions to B.Tech programmes, the candidates who have secured International Baccalaurette (IB) with diploma or A-level with major subjects as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry qualified from any International school within India are also eligible to appear in the entrance exam.
- Those who have passed the above qualifying examination in not more than 2 attempts (including appearance for improvement) will be considered for admissions.

**2) What ID proof should be shown in the SRMEE exam hall (i.e Voter’s ID, Passport, Driving license with photo)?**

If you possess a valid admit card with photograph sent by us there is no need for any other ID proof.

**3) How much marks should a candidate score in higher secondary examination to get admission in B.Tech ?**

Eligibility is minimum aggregate of 65% in higher secondary examination. Higher the marks, better are the chances. Refer the website for admission procedure.

**4) My son has secured 66% overall in +2 examination but one mark less than 65% in PCM. Is he eligible for admission?**

No, he should satisfy the eligibility criteria of minimum aggregate of 65% in PCM / PCB for Kattankulathur campus. However for other three campuses, the eligibility is minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM/ PCB.

**5) I have secured an eligible rank in the B.Tech entrance examination. My aggregate percentage is 59% in 10+2 / qualifying examination. Can I attend counseling?**

No. For admission to B.Tech, the eligibility is "minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying examination".

**6) What are the courses in B. Tech for which a student with PCB is eligible?**

Candidates with Biology, Physics, Chemistry are eligible for admission to B.Tech in Biotechnology, Bio medical engineering, and Genetic Engineering.

**7) Are the JEE and other Government engineering entrance exam marks considered for admission in SRM?**

No. We give admission based on the performance in the SRM entrance Examination.

**8) Can a diploma holder apply for SRMJEEE?**

No, Diploma holders are not permitted to apply.

**9) Is there any negative marking rule will be applicable for wrong answer?**

Yes, negative marking rule will be applicable for wrong attempt. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong attempt in case of questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and 0.7 marks in case of Biology.

**10) What do I need to carry inside examination hall?**

You are allowed to carry only pen or pencil into the exam centre. The entry of mobile phone, cellular phones, pagers, palm tops, blue tooth device or any electronic device is strictly prohibited. You are also required to produce your Hall Ticket and ID proof at the registration desk.

**11) I am a diploma holder? Am I eligible for SRMJEEE ?**

No, you are not eligible.

**12) I've passed class 12 with 69% of total marks? Am I eligible for entrance exam of SRM University? **

Yes, you are eligible.
