It was originally established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. The Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920.</p>

What is B.Ed. Programme? <p>B.Ed. is a full-time professional teacher education programme of the duration of two academic years, after graduate or post-graduate studies, leading to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Degree. After B.Ed., you can become a teacher qualified to teach at upper-primary or secondary levels. You can also work in Non-Governmental Organizations working in the field of school education.</p>
Is the Application Form Fee refundable? <p>No,application form fee is not refundable.</p>
Is it compulsory to do all the steps mentioned for applying online in a single sitting? <p>You should create the login details ie user-id and password in one sitting. The password will be sent to you by email. In the second stage you should login using the login details received in your email and then change your password.<br /> Now in the next step you should re-login using the new password and fill the remaining part of the application in one sitting.</p>
I forgot to note down my Registration number during the Candidate registration process. How can I get the Registration number? <p>Login to your home page. There you will get all details about your application.</p>
When will I get my Admit Card? <p>Admit card will be available for view and print in third week of May (onwards). You will have to log onto the Amu website with your registered User ID. You will be eligible for an Admit Card only upon submission of online application form. You will receive an automated email confirmation upon successful submission from website.</p>

What are the important steps to be followed while filling the AMU online application form? <p>Before posting the application please ensure that:-</p> <ul> <li>Before filling the application form, Kindly refer the Information Brochure carefully.</li> <li>Fill all the columns carefully, incomplete application will be rejected.</li> <li>Enter the required details and then click on the ‘Submit & Proceed to Printing‘ Button on the bottom of the page.</li> <li>Please check the content before proceeding for print. The print out should be in A4 size only.</li> <li>The duly filled-in application form to be affixed with colour passport size photograph and Signature.</li> <li>ONLINE Payment through Internet Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card.</li> <li>Kindly note down the application no. generated for any future correspondence.</li> <li>Candidates are advised to take photocopy of the application form.</li> </ul>
What should I do if I do not receive the AMU admit card by the time of the examination? <p>In case you do not receive the Admit Card, you should make it a point to report the same immediately to the Admissions Officer. If you do not receive the Admit Card, before the examination date, he / she would have to meet AMU Representative one day before the examination at the centre with a copy of the application form and two attested pass-port size photographs, identical to the one affixed in the application form. All enquiries pertaining to the Admit Card without mentioning application number will not be entertained under any circumstances.</p>
Shall I send the confirmation page to the University? <p>No. You need not send any document to the University unless otherwise specifically mentioned in your application status page.</p>
What are the eligibility criteria for appearing in AMU B. Ed ? <p>Candidates with at least 50% marks in B.A. / B.Sc. / B. Com. / B.Th. in aggregate and in the subject concerned and / or in the Master’s Degree in Science / Social Sciences / Humanities, Bachelor in Engineering & Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks.<br /> <strong>Note:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The candidate should have studied two school subjects at graduate / equivalent recognised Madarsa education level as main or subsidiary subjects. The list of applicable school subjects are given above.</li> <li>The candidates with recognised Madarsa degree / qualification may opt Arabic / Persian / Urdu / Theology as Teaching subject.</li> <li>The Status (Internal / External) will only be determined on the basis of B.A. / B. Sc. / B. Com. / B. Th. Examination only.</li> <li>Malayalam / Bengali subject will only be considered as School Subject at Malappuram / Murshidabad Centres respectively. These subjects will not be considered as School Subject for AMU Aligarh and Kishanganj Centre.</li> </ul>
This year I am appearing/have appeared in graduation final year examination. Am I eligible to take admission in the B.Ed.? <p>Yes. Final year degree students can also apply for the B.Ed. program but they have to deposit their final year mark sheet with at least 55% marks before 31st August.</p>
If I have secured more than 50% marks in my previous years but unable to manage 50% marks in aggregate after final year result. In this case, may I be allowed to pursue B.Ed program? <p>No. Minimum 55% marks, in aggregate, are compulsory in graduation/post graduation to pursue B.Ed program.</p>
This year I have passed previous year of post graduation. Now I want to pursue B.Ed program. Is it possible? <p>Yes. You can take break from your post graduation and can resume your PG after passing B.Ed; subject to the permission from the University from where you are pursuing your post graduation. You should remember that your graduation must be with at least 55% marks.</p>
Whether a candidate who has undertaken a degree in vocational subjects is eligible for the B.Ed. programme? <p>No. A candidate who has undertaken a degree in vocational subjects is not eligible for the B.Ed. Programme.</p>
What is the age limit for a student who wishes to apply for AMU B.Ed ? <p>There is no age limit.</p>
For how long is the AMU B. Ed score valid? <p>The AMU B. Ed score is valid for just one year.</p>
What happens if I do not receive the score card before the admission process in colleges? <p>The candidate can either show the photocopy of the application form or admit card to the college authorities to block the seat and produce the score card later.</p>
Can I take back the original documents with me? <p>Your original documents will be retained by the University until the completion of your course. We will however give you an acknowledgement for your original documents.</p>
Whether the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is recognized by the NAAC and Government of India ? <p>In 2015, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council rated the school 3.35/A. The US News and World Report, in its education and advice, ranked the university 6th in India, 110th in Asia and 69th in mathematical subjects. Does the Aligarh Muslim University provide hostel facility? <p>Yes, Aligarh Muslim University provides separate hostel facility for both Girls and Boys.There are 19 Halls of Residence and one Non-Resident Students Centre (NRSC). (13 Halls of Residence for boys and 04 for Girls).</p>
What about campus placement? <p>We have a Placement Cell which helps in placement of students. On-campus placement activities are also organized at regular intervals. In every faculty Deans keep in regular touch with industries and employers and advise students on placement.</p>
Is there any transport facility available? <p>Yes, transport facility is available as per University norms.</p>

Should the parents come along with the candidate at the time of counseling? <p>It is not compulsory. But, the presence of candidate is mandatory.</p>
