Tell me more about Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). <p>Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a public central university. It was originally established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. The Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920.</p>
Where do I purchase the Application Voucher (AMU Bulletin)? <ul> <li>Download Application Form from official site.</li> <li>Take the Printout of the PDF Generated Application Form on A-4 Size paper (applying ONLINE).</li> </ul> <p><strong>OR</strong></p> <ul> <li>Download the appropriate Application Form from the website meant for the course for which the candidate wishes to apply and get it printed on A-4 size paper. Fill up the Application Form by following the instructions given above in CAPITAL letters using black ball point pen (applying OFFLINE).</li> </ul>
Is the Application Form Fee refundable? <p>No,application form fee is not refundable.</p>
Is it compulsory to do all the steps mentioned for applying online in a single sitting? <p>You should create the login details ie user-id and password in one sitting. The password will be sent to you by email. In the second stage you should login using the login details received in your email and then change your password.<br /> Now in the next step you should re-login using the new password and fill the remaining part of the application in one sitting.</p>
I forgot to note down my Registration number during the Candidate registration process. How can I get the Registration number? <p>Login to your home page. There you will get all details about your application.</p>
When will I get my Admit Card? <p>Admit card will be available for view and print in third week of May (onwards). You will have to log onto the Amu website with your registered User ID. You will be eligible for an Admit Card only upon submission of online application form. You will receive an automated email confirmation upon successful submission from website.</p>
What details should I retain after completion of successful submission of my form? <p>The candidate must have:</p> <ul> <li>Hard copy of the filled-in form.</li> <li>Fee receipt detail</li> <li>Auto generated ID and Password.</li> </ul>

What are the important steps to be followed while filling the AMU online application form? <p>Before posting the application please ensure that:-</p> <ul> <li>Before filling the application form, Kindly refer the Information Brochure carefully.</li> <li>Fill all the columns carefully, incomplete application will be rejected.</li> <li>Enter the required details and then click on the ‘Submit & Proceed to Printing‘ Button on the bottom of the page.</li> <li>Please check the content before proceeding for print. The print out should be in A4 size only.</li> <li>The duly filled-in application form to be affixed with colour passport size photograph and Signature.</li> <li>ONLINE Payment through Internet Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card.</li> <li>Kindly note down the application no. generated for any future correspondence.</li> <li>Candidates are advised to take photocopy of the application form.</li> </ul>
What should I do if I do not receive the AMU admit card by the time of the examination? <p>In case you do not receive the Admit Card, you should make it a point to report the same immediately to the Admissions Officer. If you do not receive the Admit Card, before the examination date, he / she would have to meet AMU Representative one day before the examination at the centre with a copy of the application form and two attested pass-port size photographs, identical to the one affixed in the application form. All enquiries pertaining to the Admit Card without mentioning application number will not be entertained under any circumstances.</p>
Shall I send the confirmation page to the University? <p>No. You need not send any document to the University unless otherwise specifically mentioned in your application status page.</p>
What are the eligibility criteria for appearing in AMU B.Sc(Hons.)? <p>Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent examination with at least 55% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics.<br /> <strong>Note: </strong>For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) with Botany/Zoology as Main Subject, the candidate should have passed Biology at the qualifying examination.</p>
Will my admission depend upon my percentage at 10+2 level / 12 th / Senior Secondary level? <p>Your admission to the AMU B.Sc(Hons.) course will solely depend upon your merit in entrance test examination.</p>
What will be the pattern of the entrance exam? <p>The written exam will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions.</p>
In order to appear for the entrance test, will a student have to take prior admission in any course of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)? <p>No, any student who has passed his/her 10 + 2 level examination or whose result is awaited can apply online to appear for the written entrance test.</p>
Can a student from science (PCB / PCM) apply for this course? <p>Yes, any student who has passed his/her class 12th in any stream with Botany/Zoology as Main Subject is eligible to take admission in this course.</p>
I have passed my class 12th exam before 2017. Am I eligible to apply? <p>Yes students who have passed their 10 + 2 level examinations before 2017 and satisfy the eligibility conditions can apply for this course.</p>

How do I obtain my degree/certificate? <p>To obtain the degree/certificate one may write to: The Office of the Controller of Examinations,Administrative Block, AMU,Aligarh - 202002 (UP) - INDIA. Samples of the application form for obtaining the degree/certificate is also available on the website. </p>
Does the Aligarh Muslim University provide hostel facility? <p>Yes, Aligarh Muslim University provides separate hostel facility for both Girls and Boys.There are 19 Halls of Residence and one Non-Resident Students Centre (NRSC). (13 Halls of Residence for boys and 04 for Girls).</p>
What about campus placement? <p>We have a Placement Cell which helps in placement of students. On-campus placement activities are also organized at regular intervals. In every faculty Deans keep in regular touch with industries and employers and advise students on placement.</p>
Is the counseling fee / tuition fee paid refundable in case we withdraw the admission later? <p>Yes, Refund is possible if the admission withdrawal is applied before or on the day of commencement of classes, as per procedure laid down in the Admission Brochure.</p>
