To apply do I need to have an email-id? <p>Candidates must have a valid email-id prior to registering themselves with (AUAT) B.Tech Lateral Entry.</p>
What are these email-id and password required for? <p>The email-id (used as your user-id) and password (whatever you wish) are required to create an account with the AUAT website for submitting the ON-LINE application form.</p>
Is registration necessary? How does it work? <p>Yes. Registration is a process in which your email-id and preferred password are saved in a database. On successful registration, an email will be sent to your registered email id with a confirmation link for verification. You need to click on this link to complete the registration process. After confirming your account, use the Apply link to submit your application.</p>
Is it possible to fill-up the form in fragments/parts since it is a long one? <p>Yes. It is possible to fill up the form in fragments. Even one can save the form after filling the mandatory fields on the first page and enter other data in the next login. However, it is advised to do it in one go whenever one is ready with all the details.</p>
Is there a provision to modify a previously saved form? <p>Modification is possible upto end of Decmeber. </p>
Is it possible to make payment of the application fee after submitting the application? <p>NO. Further instructions will be provided later.</p>
My Credit/Debit card is not working while paying the application fee. What should I do? <p>Only Master and Visa cards are acceptable for fee payment by Credit/Debit card. If you do not have one, then take help of friends/relatives who have these cards. </p>
What is my Unique Submission Number or What Unique Number will be sent as confirmation of my form submission ? <p>The Unique Submission Number will be identified by the string "Your Application form ID is XXXX"where xxxx is your application number in the mail you receive after form submission. [This number is valid only when it is received in a email from us]. An email will be sent only after successful submission of application. If you don't receive this email, then contact us immediately.</p>
Can I change my test centre? <p>No, you cannot change the test centre.</p>
When shall I receive the AUAT - B.Tech LE admit card? <p>You can download admit card from first week of June. You must not mutilate the admit card nor make any change therein.</p>
What are the eligibility criteria for AUAT - B.Tech LE? <p>Candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Computer Science, and Electronics & Telecommunication branches) with 60% in aggregate. Candidates appearing in the final examination must have secure 45% (average) in 1st to 5th semesters of Diploma Engg.</p>
If the person has done his XII from distance learning / Open learning / Private, is he eligible to do B.Tech [Lateral Entry] through Aliah University? <p>Yes, provided the course is recognized and equivalent to 10+2 examination conducted by CBSE or other recognized Boards.</p>
Is it necessary to fulfill both 10th marks and 12th marks criteria for taking admission? <p>Yes, marks sheet of 10th and 12th both are required.</p>
My board doesn't give aggregate marks for 12th exam. What marks should I enter? <p>For CBSE, include PCM and English/Hindi and one additional elective (total five subjects) in your aggregate. For ISCE, include PCM and English in the aggregate.<br /> Others should calculate the aggregate marks (or its equivalent) and attach a note explaining the method used by them to calculate the aggregate. </p>
Are the diploma holders (lateral entry) eligible to get the admission direct in the 2nd year of the course? If yes what is the criteria. <p>Yes, criteria will be available on the University website in due course.</p>
May I use calculator or Log Table during examination? <p>No, use of Textual Material, Calculator, Slide Rule, Log Table, Electronics Watch, Printed or Written Material, Papers, Mobile Phone, Pager or any other device is strictly prohibited.</p>
For how long is the AUAT B.Tech [Lateral Entry] score valid? <p>The AUAT B.Tech [Lateral Entry] score is valid for just one year.</p>
Is AUAT B.Tech [Lateral Entry] result based on ranking or percentile? <p>The result is based on ranking. </p>
What are the Courses offered at AUAT in B.Tech [Lateral Entry]? <p>Course Offered-</p> <ul> <li>Civil Engineering (CEN)</li> <li>Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)</li> <li>Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)</li> <li>Electrical Engineering (EEN)</li> <li>Mechanical Engineering (MEN).</li> </ul>
What does the selection process comprises of? <p>Ranking, E-counselling and Admission A list of Successful candidates appearing different programmes of AUAT will be displayed separately on the University website in on the basis of scores in the written test. Separate list of successful candidates will also be prepared for the Physically Challenged ( PC ) candidates and Other state ( OS ) candidates. Admission to different programmes will be made through online counselling according to the rank in the merit list. A rank card, containing all relevant information regarding counselling, will be provided to all successful candidates at the time of publication of result of AUAT.</p>

Do all students get hostel facilities? <p>The hostel is located 17, Haji Md. Mohsin Square, Kolkata-700016. Sixty percent of its berths are reserved for the accommodation of Aliah University students studying in Islamic Theology and Mumtazul Muhaddethin (M. M.). Students are admitted in the hostel strictly on merit basis and on production of documentary evidence of their permanent residence. </p>
Is the university B.Tech[Lateral Entry] Programme recognized by UGC or by AICTE? <p>Two hundred twenty nine year old educational and cultural institution, Calcutta Madrasah, popularly known as Madrasahe<br /> Aliah, has been upgraded to Calcutta Madrasah College and then Aliah University by virtue of Aliah University Act XXVII of 2007 passed by West Bengal State Legislative Assembly and declared as a minority institution vide G.O. No. 1465 –MD /07 dated 12-10-2007 and approved by UGC.This is the first educational institution set up in India in 1780 by Warren Hastings, the then Governor General of East India Company.</p>
How is seat allocation done? <p>The first indicative seat allocation list may comprise of some additional seats over and above the total available seats among the participating institutions.</p>
What is the Counselling fee? <p>Counselling fee is the payment made by a candidate to show his/her seriousness/commitment in taking admission in any of the participating NLU(s). Counselling fee is not a separate fee, it is the adjustable advance paid which subsequently gets adjusted at the time of admission from the fee payable to the respective University by a candidate.</p>
Is there any reservation available on domicile basis in any of the Aliah University? <p>Yes, Some of the participating Law Universities have provision of domicile based reservations for which the candidates are advised to refer to official website.</p>
