What is the MAT exam? Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level management entrance examination. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003.The exam is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). More than 600 B-Schools accept MAT?exam scores.

What is AIMA? AIMA is a group- a body to pool management thoughts in the country, a forum to develop a national managerial ethos, an organisation to facilitate the furtherance of the management profession in the country. AIMA is a federation of Local Management Associations (LMAs).

What is the cost of the Bulletin / CD with registration Form? /How to Apply? Candidate can choose any one of the three modes to apply:   Register online at website link with Credit Card or Debit Card(ATM Card) payment of Rs.1,200/-. Detailed procedure is given on the website link. Or Obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.1,200/- in favour of “All India Management Association”, payable at Delhi from any bank. Register online at website link  alongwith the DD details. Details provedure is given on the website link. Or Obtain Form with MAT Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1200/- from listed Study Centres of AIMA or from AIMA, New Delhi.

What is the last date of submitting filled in MAT Registration Form? Last date for submission is mentioned in the MAT bulletin. The last date also appears in the notification released by AIMA in various national & regional newspapers.

When & how many times MAT is conducted in a year? MAT is usually conducted 4 times in a year in February, May, September and December.

What is the mode of test? Candidate can choose any one of the two options to take the test: Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test.

What are the test dates and timings of the test? The Paper Based Test is being conducted on the first Sunday of the February, May, September and December from 10:00-12:30 hours. Whereas the Computer Based Test is being conducted from Saturday onwards (6 days after the Paper Based Test date) and in different Time slots.

Do applicant has to buy the prospectus of the MI’s opted by him/her? For applying to MI’s it is suggested that the prospectus of the MI’s opted should be bought.

Is MAT held all over the country what about a person living abroad? Can he/she apply for it? MAT is conducted in all major cities in the country and in leading cities abroad. For further clarification, see MAT bulletin or contact our information centre. Test Venues for Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test are different. If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is few/limited, these candidates appears for the paper Based Test on first Sunday of the test month only. One candidate can appear only for one date for the MAT.

When will I get my Admit Card? Admit card will be available for view and print from December 03, 2016 (Onwards). You will have to log onto the MAT website with your registered User ID. You will be eligible for an Admit Card only upon submission of online application form. You will receive an automated email confirmation upon successful submission.

What details will be mentioned in the Admit Card? The admit card will contain the following details: Name of the candidate Test date Test City & Centre address User ID / Registration Number PWD/DA status.

Do we get a separate Admit Card for appearing in MAT? All provisionally registered candidates can down load their Admit Card from AIMA website link: ( 7 days before the Paper Based Test date. Specific Admit Card will be generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test. Admit Card would be having Candidate Name, Form No, Roll NO, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to them in the case of Computer Based Test. This Admit Card contains Test Centre Address with Center Code, Form No and Roll no of the test. No separate special card is issued. Also, activation of a test centre depends upon the minimum no of registration.

I have selected paper based test, will I get a separate Admit Card? Specific admit card will be allotted to the candidates opted for paper based test and computer based test. Candidates opted for computer based test, strictly have to follow the date and time allotted to them. All the eligible and provisionally registered candidates can download their admit card from the link- MAT Admit Card for December 2016.

What is the eligibility criteria for MAT SNAP Entrance Test ? The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree. A final year student in any undergraduate (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc) can also appear provisionally. Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation, which is different for different MIs/University. For this refer to the prospectus of the particular MIs/University.

What is the nature of MAT test? ?MAT is held in both, pen-paper mode and computer mode. ?In the exam, total 200 objective-type questions will be asked from 5 sections. ?All questions are compulsory. Is calculator is allowed in MAT exam? No. Calculators, formula sheets or dictionaries are not allowed for the MAT.

I have completed my graduation from Science stream, am I eligible to apply for the test? Yes. A candidate should have done graduation in any discipline from any recognized university or should have an equivalent recognized degree.

I am in the final year of my graduation, can I apply? Yes. A final year student in any undergraduate program (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com. /B.Tech. etc.) can write MAT but admission to such candidate will be granted on provisional basis.

Is there any age bar for it? Any Job experience required to appear in MAT? There is no age bar. Job experience is not necessary.

Will there be any negative marking? Yes, 0.25 or 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Is there any difference between Computer Based Test and Paper Based Test? Computer Based Test means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate submits the answers through the use of keyboard or mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer. This is unlike the Paper Based Test, which is generally offered on a single day to all candidates. MAT is offered over a period of time and the candidate can choose the center, the day and time of his/her convenience to take the test. Computer Based Test assumes that the candidate has basic familiarity with use of computers like use of keyboard and mouse operation. It is the responsibility of the candidate to acquire these skills before appearing in the test and AIMA cannot take responsibility for the same. In traditional Paper Based Test, Candidate is supposed to bring Pen, HB-Pencils, Erasers and Sharper with him/her whereas the Question Paper & OMR Answer Sheet .

When is the MAT result announced? The result of MAT is declared in the last week of the month in which it is conducted.

How to get the MAT Score Card? The Score Card is put on the AIMA website during last week of the month of the test. Candidate can download his/her score card with his 6 digits Registration Form Number and 9 digits Roll NO from AIMA website link  Individual copy of Score Card with photograph is also sent  through normal post at the address given on the Registration Form.

How to obtain duplicate MAT Score Card? Duplicate Score Card can be obtained by following the procedure given below:- a.) Application on plain paper requesting for a duplicate score card b.) Photocopy of the lower half of the Admit Card which was handed over at the test centre duly signed by the invigilator. c.) Self addressed envelope having : Size 24cms x 12cms (approx) ,Candidate’s address written in capitals , Postage stamp of Rs 40/- affixed for sending by Speed Post.

Which all Institutes will be granting admission on the basis of MAT entrance examination score? The number of participating Member Institutes may vary. The numbers of management institutes accepting MAT score keeps on changing from test to test.

Is appearance in MAT necessary for getting admission into PGDM/ MBA programme? Yes, MAT is necessary for admission into PGDM/equivalent programmes offered by AIMA or other MIs who participate in it.

What should my exam strategy be to improve percentile scores? Try to get an adequate exposure to different models of questions; prepare extensively with a time limit; compare your scores with a large database of students; analyse the Mock MATs.

Is it compulsory for a candidate to qualify MAT for all courses offered by AIMA? MAT qualification is only required for PGDM/ PGDITM. For admission into other programmes like One-year Post Graduate Certificate programmes, and Advanced Certificate Programmes, MAT is not required.

What specializations are being offered in the PGDM programme? PGDM specializations include: a)Marketing b)Finance c)Operations d)Human Resource e)Information Systems f)International Business.

What are the goals of the MAT process ? Determine whether or not the brain is properly signaling to your muscles to contract when necessary. Identify which muscles are not receiving neural input  by performing range of motion tests. Improve the stability of your joints by reactivating muscles and their ability to contract on demand. Provide a checks and balances system to make sure that any time mobility is increased, there is appropriate input and therefore contraction during this motion.
