What is SHIATS? <p>SHIATS is The Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology &amp; Sciences (Earlier known as Allahabad Agricultural Institute) a premier and foremost Agricultural Institute established in 1910 in the form of a &#39;school of agriculture&#39;. It is now a deemed to be University. SHIATS is a Pen and Paper based test for Admission to various Undergraduate and Postgraduate agriculture and other programmes of SHIATS, Allahabad campus.</p>

What is the admission procedure? <p>Admission to various undergraduate programmes shall be granted through ENTRANCE TEST, strictly on the basis of merit. However, there are few programmes for which the admission will take place through DIRECT INTERVIEW, which will be held on July 12 followed by registration and admission by depositing the fees on the same day. &nbsp;<br /> <strong>Note:</strong> A common application form shall be applicable for all academic programmes irrespective of the course (undergraduate, postgraduate) for which admission in sought, whether through entrance test or direct interview (Ph.D. excluded).</p>

What is B.Ed. Programme? <p>B.Ed. is a full-time professional teacher education programme of the duration of two academic years, after graduate or post-graduate studies, leading to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Degree. After B.Ed., you can become a teacher qualified to teach at upper-primary or secondary levels. You can also work in Non-Governmental Organizations working in the field of school education.</p>

How does one apply? <p>A common application form shall be applicable for all academic programmes irrespective of undergraduate, postgraduate, B.Ed., B.P.Ed., M.Ed. and diploma for admission through entrance test or direct interview.</p> <ul> <li>The prospectus and application form can be obtained by sending a crossed bank draft for Rs. 450.00 (i.e., Rs.400/- for Prospectus &amp; Application Forms and Rs.50/- for postal charges) or $30.00 in favour of the Registrar, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Allahabad by registered post. <strong>Note: </strong>(Postal orders/ cheques or money orders are not acceptable).</li> <li>The prospectus and application forms will be available on cash payment of Rs. 400.00 (i.e. Rs.400/- for Prospectus and Application Forms ) from the university fee counter on any working day, i.e., from Monday to Friday (09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.).</li> <li>The candidates can also choose to apply through online application form available on the university website .</li> </ul>

When will I get my Admit Card? <p>The admit card will be available on the website of SHIATS only from May 15th. The applicant is required to print the admit card from the university Website.However, he/ she is required to bring a passport-size photograph (similar to that pasted on the application form) along with the admit card to the entrance-test center for verification.&nbsp;</p>

In how many ways can one get the prospectus and the form? <p>The form can be got in 3 ways through a demand draft&nbsp; or in person for or online .</p>

The admit card has been issued but I am unable to login. What should I do now? <p>Not to worry, when the admit card is released the website crashes down due to high traffic. The conducting body will take the appropriate measures to resolve the issue.</p>

How to Check the Application Status of registered candidates? <p>In order to check the application status, registered candidates need to enter their Registration Number and Date of Birth.</p>

I forgot my application number, how do I download my admit card? <p>It can be downloaded by submitting e&shy;mail id and DoB. However, check the confirmation page of the application form, the required number will be given there.</p>

What is the basic qualification required to take admission in B.Ed program? <p>Candidates with at least 50% marks in the bachelor&#39;s/ master&#39;s degree with at least two school subjects at the graduation level are eligible for admission. &nbsp;<br /> <strong>Practice of Teaching</strong><br /> Every candidate will have to teach twenty (20) lessons each in two subjects selecting one subject each from the groups given in &nbsp;<br /> <strong>Group A&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Hindi</li> <li>English &nbsp;</li> <li>Science &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Group B &nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>History &nbsp;</li> <li>Geography &nbsp;</li> <li>Civics</li> <li>Economics &nbsp;</li> <li>Maths &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Group C</strong></p> <ul> <li>Commerce</li> <li>Home Science</li> <li>Agriculture</li> <li>Biology .</li> </ul>

If I have secured more than 40% marks in my previous years but unable to manage 40% marks in aggregate after final year result. In this case, may I be allowed to pursue B.Ed program? <p>No. Minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, are compulsory in graduation/post graduation to pursue B.Ed program.</p>

This year I have passed previous year of post graduation. Now I want to pursue B.Ed program. Is it possible? <p>Yes. You can take break from your post graduation and can resume your PG after passing B.Ed; subject to the permission from the University from where you are pursuing your post graduation. You should remember that your graduation must be with at least 50% marks.</p>

This year I am appearing/have appeared in graduation final year examination. Am I eligible to take admission in the B.Ed.? <p>Yes. Final year degree students can also apply for the B.Ed. program but they have to deposit their final year mark sheet with at least 50% marks before 31st August.</p>

Whether a candidate who has undertaken a degree in vocational subjects is eligible for the B.Ed. programme? <p>No. A candidate who has undertaken a degree in vocational subjects is not eligible for the B.Ed. Programme.</p>

For how long is the SHIATS B.ed score valid? <p>The SHIATS B.ed score is valid for just one year.</p>

What is the fee structure of the SHIATS B.ed course? <p>The fee B.ed for the course is Rs. 48,000/- per Semester .</p>

Is the University NAAC accredited? <p>The university is a recognized member of Association of Indian Universities,Association of Commonwealth Universities,Indian Agricultural Universities Association and International Association of Universities.The university has been re-accredited with a CGPA of 3.14 on a four-point scale and has received an &lsquo;A&rsquo; grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). SHIATS was also accredited in 2009 by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and in 2010 by Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE).</p>

Are there any Scholarships for meritorious students? <ul> <li>Eligible Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Minority/General of Uttar Pradesh are given Scholarship by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh as per G.O. No. 641/64-2- 2013 dated December 2, 2013.</li> <li>Eligible candidates of OBC / General are also be given Scholarship by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh as per G.O. No. 641/64-2-2013 dated December 2, 2013.</li> <li>List of the documents to be submitted along with SHIATS Application Form for availing the scholarship:</li> <li>Caste Certificate &nbsp;</li> <li>Domicile Certificate &nbsp;</li> <li>Income Certificate &nbsp;</li> <li>Annual Income of the Parents should be less than rupees two lakh for OBC / General/Minority/SC/ST.</li> </ul>

What are the rules and regulations for the admission to B.ed? <ul> <li>Candidates found using unfair means in the entrance test of this university shall be rejected and further debarred from seeking admission in the university in the future.</li> <li>It is the responsibility of the candidate to furnish complete and correct information in the application form. Any admission made on the basis of wrong or concealed information supplied by the candidate or due to any oversight or error of the entrance test and examination division which is subsequently detected after the admission or joining of the candidate, will be cancelled at any time at the cost and the risk of the candidate.</li> <li>Candidates against whom disciplinary action has been taken and who have been involved in any sort of established criminal offence in the past, will not be considered for admission.</li> </ul>

Is hostel facility available for students? <p>Yes,The institution has four Hostels for Boys and almost all Girls are accommodated in different Girls Hostels available in the University.</p>

Is the mess fee included in the hostel fees? <p>No.The students are required to deposit Rs. 2,000/- as a refundable Security Deposit per academic year. The food charges applicable shall be tentatively Rs. 2000/- for vegetarian and Rs. 2500/- for non-vegetarian food on per month basis, subject to revision as per requirement and pricing policy.&nbsp;</p>

Do my parents need to accompany me when I come for counselling? <p>No, it is not mandatory for your parents to be come with you.&nbsp;</p>

When do I need to pay admission / tuition fee? <p>The first year fees is paid on the day of counselling/admission. Subsequent fees must be paid on the dates that will be notified through official website.</p>

I have submitted my original documents at the time of counselling at the other college. What should I do now? <p>You should give us an acknowledgement for the deposition of original documents at other institution.</p>
