What is Management Quota Seat? Private and self financing Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture Colleges have been allowed to admit students up to a maximum of 10% of approved seats (course wise) directly amongst students fulfilling eligibility criteria as per the general guidelines notified for e-Counselling WBJEEM~2016. Those seats are known as Management Quota Seats. The tuition fee for these Management Quota seats shall not exceed three times the notified tuition fee for candidates in the self-financing private engineering institutions.
Is there any management quota seat in University/University Departments/Government Institutions? Normally, the answer is No. Management Quota is not applicable for University/ University Departments / Govt. Institutions. However, for the courses run on self financing basis, University Departments may use such seats as Management Quota as per their discretion.
My JEE MAIN AIR is XXXXXX. Can I opt for a seat in any University or Govt. College? No. JEE MAIN rank is applicable for Self Financing Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture Colleges in the State and participating in this e-Counselling 2015 process.
My JEE MAIN Rank is SC-XXXX. May I opt for SC Category Seats? No. JEE MAIN-2016 Merit listed Students are not eligible for Reserved Category Seats. Similar is the case for JEE Main Rank-holder with ST or OBC or PwD or any reserved category rank. Generally speaking, JEE Main rank-holders will not be eligible under any of the reserved category vacancy.
My WBJEEM Rank is YYYY and I belong to Other State. Can I opt for a seat in a University /University Department / Govt. Institution? Students from States other than West Bengal and merit listed in WBJEE-2016 can opt for University Seats but not for seat in any of the Govt. Engineering & Technology Colleges.
What is a TFW Seat? How can a student opt for a TFW Seat? TFW Scheme stands for ‘Tuition Fee Waiver’ Scheme wherein 5 % additional Seats, on supernumerary basis, in all AICTE approved Course in all Engineering, Technology and Pharmacy Colleges of the State are available under this Scheme. Students from economically weaker families(i.e. having total Annual Family Income from all sources less than Rs. 2.50 Lakhs), domiciled of West Bengal and Merit Listed in WBJEEM- 2016 can opt for seats under this Scheme. Their entire Tuition Fee shall be waived during the entire course duration. Other fees, like admission fee, Library Fee, caution deposits, etc shall have to be paid by students. Allotment shall be made strictly based on Merit and Preference only.
What are the conditions to avail TFW Seat? Can a student apply for TFW seat during registration for e-Counselling? Student must be domiciled in West Bengal. • Annual Family Income of the student from all sources must be less than Rs. 2.5 Lakh. • Must be Merit Listed only in WB JEEM-2016. • Student must have applied with their initial application for WBJEEM 2016 by declaring their family income category. Now students can’t apply for availing this benefit under TFW during registration for e-Counselling.
What is a Domicile Requirement? Student must have been residing in the State of West Bengal continuously for at least for last 10(ten) years as on 31.12.2015 or their parents must be permanent residents of State of West Bengal having their permanent home address in the State of West Bengal. (This has already been specified in the Information Brochure of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, 2016 and the students have already applied in requisite form during initial application for WBJEEM~2016).
My WBJEEM Rank is xxxx and I have notional TFW rank of yyyy. Can I opt for a General Seat only or a TFW Seat or both? Yes. A student can opt for seat under General category as well as under TFW Scheme, if one is eligible. For example, if the candidate has xxxx Rank (GMR) in WBJEEM~2016 and has also featured in the notional list for eligible TFW candidates at yyyy, the candidate will be shown available choices with and without TFW seats. If the candidate desires to be considered ONLY for seats under TFW, he/she will choose ONLY those seats with TFW. If he/she desires to be considered under TFW as well as other seats, he/she will choose both “seats with TFW” and “seats without TFW”. Seats with TFW given above in the list will enable the student to upgrade to seats with TFW. For example: If A has GMR xxxx and notional TFW rank yyyy and eligible to choose 100 institute-branch combinations, actually he has 200 options. How much fee I have to deposit for On-line Counselling? In order to register for Online Counselling: Rs. 506/- (non-refundable) has to be deposited as Registration Fee in any CBS branch of Allahabad Bank. For Provisional Admission at Reporting Centre: • Rs. 4,000/- for candidate allotted under TFW quota in any Institute; • Rs. 5,000/- for any candidate in any of Govt. Engineering Colleges and University Departments; • Rs. 20,000/- for any candidate in any of Private/Self financing Colleges. All these fees are to be adjusted at the time of final admission at finally allotted institute depending upon the nature of up-gradation and fully refundable if candidate withdraws at reporting centre after 1st, 2nd and 3rd round of allotment. But the provisional admission fee will not be refunded thereafter, if the candidate fails to physically report to the allotted institute after 3rd round.
What happens if I do not admit myself provisionally? Am I still eligible for upgradation to higher choices? NO. Candidates who do not report for provisional admission are considered to have opted out of system and their allotted seat is declared as vacant for next round. Hence, candidate has to report at some reporting centre and pay the requisite fees. These fees are to be adjusted at the time of final admission at finally allotted institute depending upon the nature of up-gradation and fully refundable if candidate withdraws at reporting centre after 1st, 2nd and 3rd round of allotment. But the provisional admission fee will not be refunded thereafter, if the candidate fails to physically report to the allotted institute after 3rd round. After final selection of the institution, the candidate is required to deposit admission fee, Book - bank and/or Library fee etc. as per notified fee structure.
