The only accredited university in the nation that provides maritime education is Indian Maritime University (IMU). It provides a range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programmes to students who want to pursue careers in the marine industry. The results of the candidates' performance on the IMU Common Entrance Test are used to determine admission to the Indian Maritime University (CET). Awards and scholarships are given out depending on merit and other factors.
