Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU), named after S.D. Asfendiyarov is the no.1 medical institute in all of Kazakhstan. The university was established in the year 1930 as S.D. Asfendiyarov and later in 2001, the Kazakhstan government classified it as the national university. It is situated in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The University has a country rank of 5 while the world rank of KazNMU is 3878. Kazakh National Medical University is also listed in the TOP-200 of QS EECA rating. Currently, Kazakh National Medical University has 102 partner universities, medical and science partners from 36 countries around the world. The university is accredited by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and approved and recognised by NMC and WHO.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Kazakh National Medical University offers programs at various levels including UG, PG, and Doctoral degrees. KazNMU consists of a total of 76 departments with 7 courses at Therapeutic, Public Health, Pediatrics, Management in Public Health and Pharmacy, Professional Training, General Medicine, Pharmaceutical & Stomatological faculty. The University persistently strives to improve the quality of education and is known as one of the leading Universities in Kazakhstan for Medical studies. Apart from academics, the University also provides other necessary facilities to the students including a hostel, gym, labs, library, etc.

Accomplishments & Alumni

Kazakh National Medical University is placed in first place in the National Rating of Medical Universities and the National Rating of Educational Programmes. Not only this but as per the results of the international rating of the European chamber of science and industry ARES-2017, KazNMU acquired the first place among medical and third place among universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan with category A+. All of the students who have passed out from the University are placed at the top medical organizations nationally as well as internationally. Currently, every third medical professional in Kazakhstan is an alumnus of KazNMU. A total of 3 rectors of medical universities in Kazakhstan, 17 Laureates of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 19 heads of research institutes, 6 heads of regional health facilities, 6 World Champions, 2 Olympic Champions, 71 Honored Scientists, 45 Honored Doctors, 46 academicians, etc. were taught at our university

At present, a total of 11,000 students are studying at Kazakh National Medical University which includes 1,773 International students. KazNMU promotes diversity on the campus and that is why it always welcomes students from all over the globe. Students from over 18 countries come to KazNMU to pursue their medical studies. The university’s Department for International Cooperation is dedicated to developing foreign relations with foreign universities, pharmaceutical organizations in areas of priority for the development of education and public health of the country.
