NEET Result 2021: 3 Students Set Record by Scoring 720, 16 Score 715

NEET Result 2021 Record by 3 Students Scoring Full Marks

With the release of the NEET 2021 result, topper's list and cutoff scores, candidates have started preparing for the NEET counselling process. Even though things now seem to be moving fast towards the next step in the selection process, it is hard to get over the results and candidates' performance in the examination. With every year passing, students seem to be setting new records of high scores. Last year, the NEET topper socked everyone by scoring full marks i.e. 720 out of 720. However, this year, the topper's list shows the cutthroat competition in the national-level medical examination.

As per the official NTA press release on NEET 2021 result, a total of three students, namely, Mrinal Kutteri, Tanmay Gupta and Karthika G Nair scored the highest score of 720 out of 720 with a percentile score of 99.999806. This is a new benchmark that the students have set with the highest number of students ever scoring full marks in NEET. All of these three students achieved AIR (All India Rank) 1. Another interesting piece of data that came forward with the NTA press release was that a total of 12 students bagged All India Rank 15 with a score of 715 and 99.998705 percentile score. Candidates holding AIR.s up to 19 scored the same marks and percentile as the candidates with AIR 15. However, the decision of ranking lower was made through the NEET 2021 tie-breaking policy.

As per the top 20 candidate's list of NEET toppers by NTA, the majority of toppers came from Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. AIR 1 holders - Mrinal Kutteri, Tanmay Gupta and Karthika G Nair came from Telangana, Delhi (NCT) and Maharashtra, respectively. 

This year, a total of 16.1 lakh students registered for NEET. About 15.4 lakh students appeared in the examination, out of which, only 870074 candidates managed to qualify. Amongst the qualified ones, 8 were transgender candidates, 375260 were male candidates and 494806 were female candidates.
