For long, government jobs have been considered as a safe job by the youth of the country. They not only give you an assured career but also various other facilities associated with it. Lakhs of people apply for various government jobs and even a clerical post receives thousands of applications. And these applications are not necessarily for people with low education background. These posts were vacant at the Kanpur Municipal Corporation. The officials at the office are expecting the number of applications to soon touch seven lakh.
Out of these 3,275 posts, notification for 1500 posts were left for the general category and the rest for the reserved category as announced by the corporation.
Currently, the screening process and uploading the same onto the database is live on the website.
On similar terms, another case was reported, where for 114 sweeper jobs, 17,000 youth have applied. What was surprising was that again for a job which required zero educational qualification, MBA, B.Tech, BSc students had applied.
