Aligarh Muslim University has released the dates for its academic session of 2020-2021. Candidates can check the dates when AMU will commence its classes for the existing as well as new students here.
The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has declared that it will be starting its academic session of 2020-2021 for the existing and new students from August 1, 2020 and September 1, 2020 respectively. AMU has scheduled the admission and departmental tests for its various courses to be conducted either in the month of July 2020 or in early August. The university plans to complete all of its new admissions by August 31, 2020.
The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Tariq Mansoor, held a meeting with the Deans of all the faculties of the university and other officials a few days back. The new academic dates were decided in that meeting which was chaired by the VC. Online teaching, examinations, and the academic calendar for the sessions of 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 were also discussed in this meeting.
In order to strengthen the mode of online teaching, the concerned teachers of AMY will prepare e-content or e-lab experiments and this data will then be uploaded on the official website of the university.

It was decided that for encouraging the use of ICT and online teaching tools, the teachers must strive to cover about 25 per cent of the syllabus through the online classes and 75 per cent through regular classes. A faculty advisor will be assigned to each student in order to maintain regular communication with them.
According to the Controller of Examinations of AMU, Mujib Ullah Zuberi, online teaching for the session 2019-2020 will continue up to May 31, 2020. The completion of syllabus, finalisation of dissertation, e-labs, project work, assignment, internal assessment, reports, etc. will be done in the period from June 1, 2020 to June 15, 2020.

The duration of lockdown will be treated as ‘deemed to be attended’ by all students of AMU and their attendance will be computed accordingly.
