Andhra Pradesh Government Encourages institutes and Schools to Impart Online Classes

Andhra Pradesh schools and colleges have started offering online lessons. Efforts are being made to conduct online classes as the institute as well as school level.

Andhra Pradesh State has started offering online lessons after the instructions were given by the state Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Andhra Pradesh Education Department is encouraging virtual classes on online platforms like Skype, Google Meet, Microsoft Team, Teamlink and Cisco.

During the lockdown period, over 24,000 students and 933 teachers in the state have participated in online classes. Students who do not have access to online facilities can check videos which are uploaded YouTube, the link of which is shared to students by the institute. Teachers and lecturers are also sharing class notes via Watsapp and email.

The state has so far conducted 5979 online classes for students enrolled in various courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, BA, MA and other courses.

The institutes and universities and making all efforts to complete pending syllabus of session and ensure that the students productivity is maintained during the lockdown. The universities are also encouraging students to get enrolled in free online courses on the platform like Udemy, Coursera, etc. They are also encouraged to utilize other resources like MOOC, SWAYAM, and NPTL.

For school students, Doordarshan is already telecasting daily two hours lessons in the morning and evening. The lessons are also telecasted on radio.

Student can also access Andhra Pradesh self-learning app ‘Abhyasa’ that contains Class 10th subject syllabus videos pooled from Dhiksha. It also has objective type questions which students can use to practice questions.

Andhra Pradesh government is also planning to create the WhatsApp group for every school for Class X students and teachers. The teachers can post important practice questions on a daily basis on these groups and students can solve questions and send answers for the same. It will be evaluated soon by teachers and feedback will be shared on the group.

Webinars and per recorded classed will also be available on ‘SCERT’ YouTube channel. It will also contain question and answers, discussions on important topics.

The online classes for lower classes will be available from June and July and the same will be posted on the WhatsApp group.

As per the new curriculum of the state, the webinars have been organised from May 4. Assessment test and notes are shared on a daily basis.

Some universities are also conducting counselling sessions with the support from the Psychology Department to support students and to ensure that they do not suffer from fatigue, monotony or depression. Presently, Padmavati Mahila Vishvavidalayam, Adikavi Nannaya and Yogi Vemana University are offering counselling. Certain universities have also posted counselling contact number on their official website through which students can reach out to counselling experts.
