Question Number 31 B with Answer: Analyze this Pie Chart
Based on the image provided, here is an analysis of the graph titled "Loans taken from formal and informal sectors". The charts illustrate the relationship between the wealth of a household and its source of credit (Formal vs. Informal) in India.
Household Category Formal Sector (Banks/Coops) Informal Sector (Moneylenders/Friends) Poor Households 15% 85% Households with few assets 47% 53% Well-off Households 72% 28% Rich Households 90% 10% Key Observations
Inverse Relationship: There is a clear trend where the wealthier a household is, the more it relies on the formal sector. Conversely, the poorer the household, the more it is forced to rely on the informal sector.
Dependence of the Poor: A staggering 85% of poor households depend on informal sources. This is often because they lack the "collateral" (assets to pledge) required by banks.
Advantages for the Rich: 90% of rich households get their loans from formal sources. They benefit from lower interest rates and legal protection, which helps them grow their wealth further.
The "Debt Trap" Risk: Because informal sectors (like moneylenders) charge much higher interest rates, poor households are at a much higher risk of falling into a debt trap compared to rich households.

Question No. 31 with Answer: Analyze the graph
Based on the graph provided in the image, titled "Share of Various Sectors in Employment (%)", here is an analysis comparing the years 1977-78 and 2017-18.
Analysis of Employment Sectors (1977-78 vs. 2017-18)
The graph illustrates a significant structural shift in the Indian workforce over four decades. Here is the breakdown:
1. Primary Sector (Agriculture)
1977-78: This sector was the largest employer, accounting for 71% of the total workforce.
2017-18: Employment in this sector dropped significantly to 44%.
Observation: While still the largest employer, its dominance has decreased as people moved toward other sectors.
2. Secondary Sector (Manufacturing/Industry)
1977-78: This sector employed only 11% of the workforce.
2017-18: It saw a notable increase, rising to 25%.
Observation: This indicates a growth in industrialization and construction activities, more than doubling its share of employment.
3. Tertiary Sector (Services)
1977-78: This sector accounted for 18% of employment.
2017-18: It grew substantially to reach 31%.
Observation: The service sector (including IT, banking, and transport) has become a major source of livelihood, nearly doubling its share.
