Chandigarh University is all set to launch its entrance-cum-scholarship test for rewarding talented students. The exam, CUCET, will be held annually for shortlisting candidates for admission as well as for giving scholarships.
Chandigarh University has launched its own entrance-cum-scholarship test of the national level. The exam is called Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) and it has been started from January 22, 2021, onwards. Through this entrance-cum-scholarship test, Chandigarh University will offer a sum of Rs. 33 crore to talented students.
Professor RS Bawa, the pro-chancellor of the university, talked about the varsity’s initiative and stated that Chandigarh University has launched this test to motivate and give rewards to the meritorious and talented students. They will get a golden opportunity to earn scholarships worth Rs. 33 crores.
He further added that it will be an online examination which will offer students the flexibility to choose their desired slot. Through CUCET, candidates can become eligible to grab academic scholarships of up to 100 per cent in the course of their choice. It is mandatory for students belonging to the courses of engineering, pharmacy, MBA, integrated law, and agriculture to take the test.
Chandigarh University has also inaugurated the official online portal through which students can register for the entrance-cum-scholarship test. They can log on to the official website https://cucet.cuchd.in/ to facilitate their applications. Chandigarh University is at the 24th position among the universities in India. Professor Bawa revealed that the university felicitated about 1,200 students to study abroad. He also told that last year, 182 students from the Majha region managed to bag campus placements at top-notch MNCs.
The varsity has also emerged as the first university in the country to have established academic collaboration with 306 top-ranked universities across the globe. More than 1,200 university students have been provided with the opportunities to do a semester abroad, go for international internships, be a part of joint research initiatives at the world’s top universities by the Department of International Affairs at Chandigarh University, etc.
