Chirala Engineering College (CEC), Prakasham has been selected as the centre for Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has selected CEC under this scheme. PMKVY is a programme offered by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Under this scheme, unemployed youth can take up industry ready skill training and secure a better livelihood.

Secretary of the College, Ashok Kumar said that under this scheme, unemployed youth between 17 to 30 years in the region could register their names in the college office to seek training in plumbing, soldering and brazing technician and repair welder courses.

The candidates need not pay a fee to apply for training under this scheme. The candidates will be awarded certificates from National Skill Development Corporation after the completion of training. The college will also provide placement assistance for the candidates who excel during the training session.
For more details, the candidates can visit the college office from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM. The training is given only for the candidates residing in Prakasam district.
