CMAT 2021 Shift 2 Question Paper Analysis

Shift 2 of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2021 was held on March 31, 2021. The shift commenced from 3:00 pm for all candidates and wrapped up at 6:00 pm for candidates who hadn't opted for the 'Innovation & Entrepreneurship' section. Candidates who opted for the section were provided 30 minutes extra to attempt this section and hence their shift ended at 6:30 pm.

CMAT 2021 Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation Section Analysis

In the Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation Section of CMAT Shift 2, the maximum number of questions were algebra-based. Other topics that popped-up in this section were from Arithmetic, P&, Functions, Probability, Geometry and Mensuration. The weightage of probability was higher when compared to the CMAT 2020. Aspirants found this section a bit trickier and time-consuming than the rest of the sections. A total of 25 questions worth 100 marks were asked in this section.

CMAT 2021 Shift 2 General Awareness Section Analysis

The general awareness of CMAT Shift 2 was considered as the toughest section along with the quants. Around 13 questions were based on static GK. This section covered the major topics such as new education policy, awards & recognition, trade & business, static GK, Education system etc. Candidates highlighted the vastness of the topics and mentioned that not even one question covered the recent happenings.

CMAT 2021 Shift 2 Innovation & Entrepreneurship Section Analysis

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship section was there for the first time in CMAT 2021. Questions were designed around the recent initiatives and innovations taken by the Government to boost Entrepreneurship. Students should note that the Innovation & Entrepreneurship will only be considered for basic qualification and the final CMAT result will not be calculated based on this section.

NTA ensures that the difficulty level of Shift 2 is very close or similar to that of Shift 1 in CMAT 2021.
