CSIR UGC NET December

CSIR UGC NET 2024 Notification will be released in the first week of March 2024. The National Testing Agency will release the CSIR UGC NET official notification and the application form. CSIR NET 2024 exam dates will be conducted in June 2024. CSIR UGC NET 2024 application process will be initiated by NTA.  Candidates who want to appear for the exam can do so by filling out the CSIR NET 2024 application form. .

About CSIR-UGC NET 2024

CSIR-UGC Test (commonly known as CSIR UGC NET) is conducted to shortlist candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Lectureship (LS) positions in the domain of science and technology. Candidates who qualify in the CSIR UGC NET exam will be able to pursue JRF and lecturer positions in subjects such as:

  • Life Sciences

  • Chemical Sciences

  • Physical Sciences

  • Mathematical Sciences

  • Earth, Oceanic, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences

The duration of the exam is 3 hours and the maximum marks are 200.

Eligibility Criteria for CSIR-UGC-NET 2024

General Eligibility: Candidates looking at applying for CSIR UGC NET 2024 must have MSc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ BS-4 years/ BE/ B.Tech/ B.Pharma/ MBBS with at least 55% marks to be eligible to apply for CSIR UGC NET. 5% marks relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. The candidate must be an Indian national.

  • For JRF: The age limit is a maximum of 28 years, it is 33 years for SC/ ST/ PWD and female candidates). 
  • For Lectureship: There is no age limit.
  • Academic criteria: Candidates who are pursuing M.Sc and have completed graduation (10+2+3) are eligible to apply. However, the subject-wise eligibility criteria are given below:

CSIR UGC NET Application Form 2024 - Apply Online

The application form for the CSIR UGC NET December 2024 exam will be available on the official website of CSIR. Applicants have to apply for CSIR UGC NET 2024 in online mode.

Application Fee for CSIR UGC NET 2024

Interested applicants have to pay the CSIR UGC NET 2024 application fee through NEFT of any bank. For general candidates, the fee is Rs. 1000. For OBC-Non creamy layer, the CSIR UGC NET application fee 2024 is Rs. 500 and for SC/ST and PwD candidates, it is Rs. 250.

Documents Required for CSIR UGC NET Application Form 2024

The following documents are required for CSIR UGC NET Application Form 2024:

  • Scanned recent passport size photograph with a light background in JPEG/JPG format with dimensions ranging from 35mm width x 45mm height (Max. 280x360 pixels; Min. 150x180 pixels; Min. 200DPI; file size should be less than 150KB)

  • Scanned Signature JPEG/JPG format with dimension ranging from 35mm width x15mm height (Max. 280x120 pixels; Min. 100x40 pixels; Min. 200 DPI; file size should be less than 150 KB)

  • Qualifying final/ last mark sheet or testimonials clearly stating the semester the candidate is pursuing or passed with a clear indication of % of mark scored, to confirm the eligibility to take the exam.

  • Category Certificate as proof for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)

  • PwD Certificate - if applicable

  • Candidates applying under Result Awaited (RA) category to upload the Attestation Form duly attested by the HoD of the University/ College/ Institute

How to Fill CSIR UGC NET Application Form 2024?

Candidates can fill out the CSIR UGC NET 2024 application form after they have paid the application fees. The details they must fill in are as follows:

  • Name, date of birth, gender, marital status, and parents’ names

  • Contact details such as an address, email address and mobile number

  • Educational details of class X, XII, graduation, name of the school/university/college, marks scored and the subjects studied

  • Female candidates who are married have to send scanned copies of their marriage certificates along with any other documents as proof through email to examunit@csirhrdg.res.in as and when asked for by CSIR-HRDG

  • A candidate can apply either for ‘Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)’ OR ‘Lectureship (LS)’. He/she may indicate his/her preference in the application. If the candidate applies for JRF and qualifies the eligibility criteria for Lectureship as well then in that scenario, the candidate will be considered for both JRF & LS

  • If a candidate is over-age for JRF (NET) he/she will be automatically considered for Lectureship (NET) only

  • After the application form has been filled, there will be two options that will appear at the bottom of the page, “Save and Preview” and “Reset”. Selecting "Reset" will delete the entire information and the form will have to be refilled. Selecting "Save and Preview" will further lead to two options, "Edit Application" and "Final Submit and Proceed for Fee Payment"

  • Choose the option carefully as no change in information will be possible after the final submission.

Exam Pattern of CSIR UGC NET 2024

CSIR UGC NET has multiple choice questions of 200 marks. The question paper will be divided into 3 parts - A, B, and C that candidates need to complete in the stipulated time. Each paper is of the same duration i.e. 3 hours. The table given below shows the detailed subject-wise CSIR UGC NETexam pattern.

Marking Scheme for Earth Sciences Paper - Each question in Part A and B has weightage of two marks. Each question in Part C carries four marks weightage. There will be negative marking of 25% marks for every wrong answer in Part A and B but in Part C, there will be negative marking of 33% marks for each incorrect answer.

Marking Scheme for Mathematical Sciences Paper - Each question in Part A carries two marks weightage. On the other hand, each question in Part B and C carries weightage of three and 4.75 marks, respectively. There will be negative marking of 25% marks in Part A and B. However, there will be no negative marking for questions in Part C of the exam.

Note: As per the official website, the questions in part C will have multiple correct options. Credit in a question will only be given once all the correct options are identified. There will be no credit if an incorrect option is marked as a correct answer. No partial credit is also allowed.

Marking Scheme for Physical Sciences Paper - Each question in Part A carries two marks weightage. On the other hand, each question in Part B and C carries a weightage of 3.5 and five marks, respectively. There will be a negative marking of 25% marks for questions asked in all parts of the exam.

There are three parts to the CSIR UGC NET syllabus 2024 as follows:

  • Part A - This part will have questions regarding general science, quantitative reasoning and analysis, and research aptitude
  • Part B - This part will have subject-related multiple-choice questions
  • Part C - This part has questions pertaining to scientific concepts. The questions may be analytical in nature wherein an applicant will have to apply scientific knowledge to come to a solution.

CSIR UGC NET Result 2024

CSIR UGC NET Result 2024 will be released by National Testing Agency on the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in. The CSIR UGC NET 2024 result will have the name and roll number of the candidates, CSIR NET 2024 registration number, sections appeared for and marks secured by the candidate in each section, along with the qualifying status of the candidate and the total marks secured.

Selection Procedure of CSIR UGC NET 2024

Applicants will have to clear all the stages of the CSIR UGC NET selection procedure to get shortlisted for the JRF and Lectureship. The selection criteria consist of 5 stages - filling up the application form, appearing for the single MCQ test, preparation of the merit list, interview, and award of JRF.

Final selection is done on the basis of a candidate’s performance in the written exam but they will have to clear all the stages of the CSIR NET selection procedure 2024.

The validity of the CSIR UGC NET 2024 Certificate

The validity of CSIR UGC NET 2024 is 2 years for joining the fellowship under CSIR Scheme.

CSIR-UGC NET Admit Card 2024

The admit card for the CSIR-UGC NET will be released on the official website. After the submission of the online application, an application number is autogenerated. Candidates are advised to save the CSIR UGC NET application number for future reference and for downloading the e-Admit Card. Candidate should also keep a print (hardcopy) of the filled-in application form and also note down his/her e-mail ID and password.

After the completion of the application process, applicants can download their CSIR UGC NET 2024 admit card from the official website of the council by making use of their application form number. The CSIR UGC NET 2024 admit card will have details such as a candidate’s name, photo, roll number, signature and exam date, centre name, time, and address. Once downloaded, candidates need to carry their e-admit card to the exam centre. CSIR NET admit card 2024 is a mandatory document to be carried at the time of the exam. The council does not send the hard copy of the admit card to the candidate by post. And, no duplicate e-admit card is issued to the candidates at the test centre.

Hello Lucky, according to the website of Govt (Auto) P.G. College Chhindwara, the tuition fee for all courses is Rs 3,571 for the academic year 2023-2024. This includes MA, M.Sc, B.Com, and BCA courses offered to eligible students every year. Students applying for UG admissions must have passed class 12 whereas students applying for PG admission must have a bachelors degree in relevant discpline. The college also offers a hostel facility to female students, but the hostel fee is not known.
