The state government of Bihar has allotted land for the Dolphin Research Centre in Patna. The land has been allotted near the Patna Law College – Patna University.
It is noteworthy that the professor of the Patna University, Dr R.K Sinha has been awarded Padmshree in the recent days.
The professor has contributed a lot in the Ganga Dolphin Research and has always had a vision of the setup of the research centre near the Patna University.
It has been reported that a place has been marked near the university. However, the work is yet to be started. The work for the setup of the research centre has not been started as the Patna University administration is yet to give the final nod to the start of the construction work of the university.
The professor has contributed his whole life working on the Ganga Dolphins. The professor has saved a considerable number of the Dolphins the life of which was endangered in the polluted Ganga.
The dolphin research centre, the 1st of its kind across the country, would now receive a major push. The Planning Commission also had in - fact sanctioned a total sum of Rs 28.06 crore in the year 2013, appreciating its unique necessary while the Bihar state government that released a total sum of Rs. 19.16 crore for the infrastructure in the year 2014.
