The University of Delhi announced a special drive to enrol African students on May 19, 2017. For this purpose, the varsity is getting in touch with embassies of various countries from the African continent. For the same, is contacting the ambassadors of various countries in Africa, and is receiving a very enthusiastic response.
One of the officials of DU revealed that the ambassadors showed a positive tendency in instituting scholarships to help aspirants from Africa sail through to Delhi University.
With an overwhelming response from African students, the varsity extended the deadline to May 31, 2017, from April 20, 2017, for foreign candidates. So far, the varsity received more than 300 applications from African students.

DU has been taking extensive steps to expand its global outreach. The varsity is planning to enrich it further.
So far, 3,300 students from various countries applied for various programmes at Delhi University. The number of international students enrolling in Delhi University has been increasing every year. Last year, around 2,400 candidates applied to various programmes if varsity. Students from various countries like Vietnam, Srilanka, Thailand, Syria, Iran, South Korea and Afghanistan join the Delhi University as per trends.

Most of the international students are evincing keen interest in joining B.Com (Hons) and Economics (Hons) programmes of the varsity. There is a stiff competition for these courses among the international students.
The admission season at Delhi University will begin from next week. Usually, the cut-offs of Delhi University are high, and there is a lot of competition to seek admission.
