DU Announces 7th Cut-off, Popular Courses Still available

Although the 2016 session has already commenced, the Delhi University has announced its seventh cut-off list for admissions to UG courses as seats still remain vacant.

Delhi University releases yet another cut-off in an effort to fill the seats that still remain vacant in numerous colleges. Although the 2016 session has already commenced, the varsity has announced its seventh cut-off list for admissions to Undergraduate courses as seats still remain vacant.

Initially, DU announced that only five cut-offs will be released for the session 2016. However, with vacant seats available the varsity has decided to release another two cut-off lists. Admissions based on the seventh list commenced from August 24, 2016. Seats for general candidates are filled at most of the colleges but seats for SC/ ST and other reserved categories still remain vacant even in popular courses.

Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College is still offering BA English (Hons.) at 89.5% while Ramjas College is offering the course at 93.50%.

BA History (Hons.) is also available in a few colleges at cut-off above 90%.

Maitreyi College is still offering BA (Hons.) Political Science which is available at 87%.

Among the science courses, Zoology (Hons.), B.Sc (Hons.) Chemistry and B.Sc (Hons.) Physics are also available at some colleges. Daulat Ram College is offering B.Sc (Hons.) Chemistry at 92% whereas Hansraj College and Hindu College have seats in B.Sc (Hons) Physics available at 95.66%.

Of the total 54,000 seats that the university offers, 6,500 seats still remain vacant after the six cut-offs released by DU. The final cut-off list will be declared on August 29.
