Delhi University has released a notification stating that the second and fourth-semester exams have been cancelled. Students affected by this decision will be graded on the basis of internal assessments and previous semester results.
Delhi University has made an announcement that it will not be conducting the examinations for the second and fourth semesters. The announcement was made in a notification issued by the varsity on June 4.
In the notification, the university has said that holding pen-and-paper semester examinations is not feasible in the current scenario. The university's decision has come at a time when educational institutions around the nation have shut their doors and multiple examinations are being cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
How Will DU Students Be Graded?
Delhi University has decided to adopt an alternative means of grading the students for promoting them to the next year. The students will be graded by using a composite format based on the marks obtained by students in their internal assessments and previous semester examinations.
First-year students, who do not have any previous academic record, will be graded solely on the basis of their internal assignments.

SOL and NCWEB Also Included
The decision of the University extends to the students who have enrolled in the School of Open Learning (SOL), Delhi University and the Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB). Students enrolled in courses offered by these institutes will also be graded by the same composite system.
The university has stated that the decision was taken after much deliberation and as a one-time-measure to allow DU students to advance in their career. Final semester students, however, will still be required to appear for the Open Book Exams conducted by Delhi University.
