‘Contribute for Nation Building’ - DU VC to Freshers

The Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University has written an open letter to the students who are taking admission in DU. In the open letter, Vice-Chancellor welcomed all the freshers and asked students to be the nation builders.

According to him, the students focus on nation-building along with achieving their own ideal goals. The Vice-Chancellor also congratulated the students who got into Delhi University and encouraged them to focus on their dream and achieve the same. He motivated the students to transform their energies and talents into becoming socially productive. It is important to align personal goals with social responsibilities.

Every year, a huge number of applications are received by the University. However this year the number has increased to 2.5 lakhs applications for 64,000 seats. But the freshers admitted in the Political Science, English, History, and Sociology will face an issue as the syllabi of these courses are sent back to the departments by Executive Committee and the final syllabi are yet to be decided. The freshers are waiting for the revised syllabi of these 4 UG courses. According to the Executive Committee, the syllabus of these four courses is promoting leftist ideologies.

Delhi University also established many anti-ragging committees in its constituent colleges so that the freshers do not face any trouble or issue in college and can solely focus on academics and self-development. DU has established control rooms both in North Campus and South Campus to keep a check on ragging activities.
