Colossus is a Sports & Cultural Fest of HNLU. This was the fourth edition of Colossus.
Many National & International participants registered themselves in the Fest. Along with the cultural events like Singing, dancing a lot of sports competitions were organized.
This time Colossus covered outdoor games like football,basketball,cricket,volleyball,kabaddi & many indoor sports which includes chess,table tennis,some Quiz competitions. Adventurous sports were also available.
On 11th March, there was an inauguration ceremony in which the Vice Chancellor of HNLU, Dr. Sukhpal Singh did Saraswati pujan & lighted diyaas. Other University Officials were also present at the ceremony.
There were food stalls in the fest which were organized by the HNLU students & had mouthwatering dishes. The first day started with sports events in which several participants took an active part.
Various other sports events took place simultaneously, inspite of the increase in temperature these events saw a huge participation. The place was filled with enthusiasm.
On the second day of Colossus 2016 board and field games were scheduled. Board games such as Carom, Chess and 7 Up 7 Down which attracted a huge crowd. Field games such as Throw Ball, Street Soccer, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cricket, and Football too saw an active participation. The enthusiasm of the players on day two was really something to watch out for.
The Cultural & Sports Fest of Hidayatullah National Law University saw an overwhelming participation of various National & International college. Many other cultural events were organized which included Art attack, Street plays & battle of bands.
The fest 'Colossus'16' witnessed a huge audience and entries. Back to back sports & cultural events kept everyone engaged. Quiz competitions made the participant’s mind staggered.
In the evening the ambience of HNLU campus was filled with music. Battle of Bands was organized in which bands from different cities gave an awe-istruck performances.
One of the singer performed the rock version of famous Chhattisgarhi song Mahuaa Jhare Re which was a pleasure to the ears.
The magnificent performances kept the audience engaged. Shankara- II, Bhilai performed really well in the Indian solo singing and bagged first prize for the same. The prize for western solo singing went to Zakin Hussain College. In solo & group dance performance the trophy was bagged by INS Pune & JNM Medical college respectively.
Performance of AIIMS Medical college which was centered around women empowerment. It beautifully portrayed the lives of women in current scenario which touched everyone's heart. The bands who excelled in the battle of bands were Xaiken ( Raipur), Apricot (Bhopal) and Manndori (Bhopal). J.D. School of Fashion bagged the first prize in the Fashion show.
On the same day a Conference was organized as a part of HNLU-IMUNC 2016(International Model United Nations Conference 2016) naming "All India Political Party Meet". The Motion of the conference was COMMUNAL INTOLERANCE. The participants played the roles of our prominent Politicians like Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. Also the students made themselves Bollywood Celebrities & some famous Personalities of Journalism.Discussions held on JNU controversy,beef issue etc. The event catched every eyes. Every participant from opposition & proposition participated very constructively and made the discussion informative rather than just a Vaad-Vivaad. IMUNC had both National & International participants.
Day ended with a magnificant performance of "Underground Authority" a very famous band of Kolkata. Every one got immersed in the joyful atmosphere.
COLOSSUS 2106 ended on a inspiring and satisfied note.
