GATE 2023 Registration: Why choose Two Papers?
Candidates have the offer to choose a maximum of two papers only for the GATE 2023 Application Form. This is so that candidates get the opportunity to choose between two papers, and at the same time equal advantage to all candidates. Also, in case IIT Kanpur scraps and a combination of two papers, the first paper will be considered and candidates will have to appear for the GATE 2023 exams.

GATE 2023: Marking Pattern
The GATE 2023 exams will have a total of 100 marks. Depending on the subject of appearance for the exam, the exam pattern will differ. The questions in GATE 2023 will have 1 mark or 2 marks for each question. However, here is the marking pattern to be followed through all subjects:
- For 1 Mark MCQs- 1/3rd will be deducted for wrong answer.
- For 2 Marks MCQs- 2/3rd will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- No Negative Marking for MSQ and NAT questions.
