Google to Offer 1.3 Lakh Scholarships to Developers and Students

Google to Offer 1.3 Lakh Scholarships to Developers and Students

With a motive to create a pool of highly skilled tech workforce, Google India, in collaboration with Pluralsight (a technology learning platform) and Udacity (an educational institution) announced a new scholarship scheme. The scholarship scheme of Google will help in imparting training to 1.3 lakh students and developers across the country.

An official statement released by Google India mentioned that the company made investments to help start-up and developer community. The investment will help them to access the latest technology easily. Over the last few years, Google has widened its efforts in India by going beyond start-ups and professional developers. The major focus was shifted to student community as well.

Google India has taken a significant move by collaborating with Pluralsight and Udacity for implementing new scholarship scheme. Under this scheme, 130K students and developers will gain skills and emerge successful in changing technology landscape.

Through this scholarship programme, Google will sponsor 1,00,000 scholarships on the learning platform of Pluralsight and 30,000 scholarships on Udacity.

With the help of these scholarships, developers will gain access to the advanced learning curriculum. Skills and training obtained by these developers will help them to seek better employment opportunities in emerging technologies like Machine Learning, Mobile and Web Development, Cloud Platforms, Artificial Intelligence and AR/VR.

The candidates who are interested in this scholarship programme will get access to Pluralsight’s unique adaptive assessment engine. It will help the candidates to maintain a balance between their learning and skill development.

So far, 2,10,000 students have completed the Google-developed course on Udacity. In 2015, CEO of Google, Mr. Sundar Pichai revealed that the company would train 2 million new Android developers in India in the next three years.
