HPU B.Tech Admission 2025: Application form underway, total seats and course details

HPU B.Tech Admission 2025 is currently underway with application form open for only B.Tech lateral entry till July 20. Application fee is Rs 1000/- which is to be paid online. Candidates can fill out the application form online using their login credentials, registration number and password.

HPU B.Tech Admission 2025: The Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) B.Tech admission 2025 is currently underway for B.Tech/ B.Tech (Hons.) Lateral entry course for 2nd year admissions, with the application form available online. Interested candidates were able to submit their applications for B.Tech (Fresh Entry) until 30 May 2025, while those applying for B.Tech (Lateral Entry) have until July 20, 2025. The university allowed corrections in the application form for B.Tech fresh entry till June 2, 2025. The entrance examination for B.Tech fresh entry admissions was scheduled on June 10, 2025. The results are expected to be announced on June 20, 2025, and the detailed counselling schedule will be released on June 28, 2025.

HPU offers its B.Tech programs through the University Institute of Technology (UIT), providing five specialised branches: Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Each branch has an intake of 79 seats, bringing the total seats across all the offered engineering courses for B.Tech at HPU to be 395.

To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, securing a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). Selection is strictly based on the HPU B.Tech Entrance Exam, with separate merit lists prepared for Himachal Pradesh and all-India candidates. The tuition fee per semester is Rs 45,000/-. Applicants must complete the registration process through the official HPU portal, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee online.
