IIFT 2024 Exam Pattern

IIFT exam pattern 2024 is prescribed by NTA. The exam pattern will have 4 sections in total and it will be conducted entirely in the English medium.  IIFT 2024 will be an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) having multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There will be 110 questions in the entrance exam and the total duration of the test will be 2 hours.

The most distinct feature of the IIFT exam pattern is the differential marking scheme. The allocated marks of each section of the IIFT question paper will differ from section to section. Additionally, the negative marking of each section is also different.

Having knowledge about IIFT 2024 exam pattern is the first step toward IIFT 2024 exam preparation. The conducting authority, i.e. the National Testing Agency (NTA) determines the exam pattern of the IIFT entrance exam. Earlier, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) conducted the exam but it was handed over to the NTA last year. IIFT 2024 Marking Scheme

In IIFT, the marking scheme of each section differs section-wise. The below table shows the different marking scheme of each section and the total number of questions in the IIFT 2024 exam. The total number of questions for IIFT 2024 examination has not yet been published by the exam conducting authority. However, candidates may consider IIFT 2024 exam pattern to start off with their preparation for the 2024 session of IIFT. IIFT 2024 Exam Duration

As prescribed by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, the duration of the IIFT exam is 120 minutes. During this time frame, candidates will have to complete the questions asked in the exam.

IIFT 2024 Question Paper

IIFT question paper will be objective in nature i.e. it will have multiple choice type of questions. While appearing for IIFT 2024, candidates will have to choose one option from the four options available.

IIFT 2024 Exam Timings

NTA will release the timings on which the IIFT 2024 exam will be conducted. Candidates must follow the important timings of IIFT 2024 given below to avoid any hiccups during the exam. IIFT 2024 will be a 2-hour exam conducted from 3 pm to 5 pm. NTA has advised candidates to report at least 2 hours before the exam commencement schedule. The final reporting time will be 2:30 pm. Highlights of IIFT 2024 Exam Pattern

  • IIFT 2024 will be a computer-based entrance exam.

  • The candidates appearing in the entrance will not be provided admissions to the IIFT Dar-es-Salaam campus through this examination.

  • The scoring pattern, the number of sections in the question paper of IIFT 2024 might vary or change.

  • Opportunity for the admissions to Kakinada campus may or may not be provided through the IIFT 2024 entrance. 

  • The number of sections in the IIFT question paper has been reduced from 6 to 4.

No, the IIFT exam Is a computer-based examination. You are not allowed to carry paper or pen in the examination hall. Being a computer-based test, the IIFT exam will only include MCQs wherein candidates will have to choose one out of the four options provided. According to the IIFT exam pattern, test takers will be required to attempt a total of 110 questions during the test this year. The VARC section of the test consists of 35 questions, the DILR section consists of 30 questions, the QA section of IIFT consists of 25 questions and there will be 20 questions in the General Awareness section.

What is the total duration of the IIFT exam?

The current exam pattern for IIFT exams conducted after 2020 dictates that the total duration of the IIFT exam is 2 hours or (120 minutes). All test-takers are required to attempt all the questions within this time frame and if possible, review their answers during this time frame alone. No extra time will be given to any candidate.

What are the total marks per section in the IIFT exam?

While the total marks test takers can get in the IIFT exam is 300, the total marks per section in the test include 105 marks in the Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension section, 90 marks in the Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning section, 75 in the Quantitative Analysis section and 30 in the General Awareness section.

Is there any negative marking in IIFT 2024?

Yes, marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer a candidate gives in any of the four sections of the IIFT exam. According to the IIFT exam pattern, the negative marking will be the same for all the sections, which is set at 1/3 of the total marks for each specific question for all incorrect answers provided in the test this year.
