IIM Kashipur witnessed yet another celebration of its annual flagship event Samanvaya, on 18th August 2019. The theme of the event this year was ‘Evolution to Revolution' and it was celebrated as part of IIM Kashipur’s Annual Management Conclave known as Coalescence-2019. The event started with the lamp lighting by the faculty members and important guests.
Dr. Kulbhushan Balooni, the director of IIM Kashipur, addressed the gathering at the event where he talked about the institute’s infrastructure, incubation centre, placements and teaching.
Capt. Partha Sama, Group Head (HR) at AGS Transact Technologies Ltd., delivered the first keynote speech and talked about the positive implications of Artifical Intelligence (AI) software in helping recruiters design the job description in the best possible way.
Ms. Shilpi Saxena, the Head HR at Kurlon, talked about how automation has changed the lives all around and how its existence is omnipresent.
Krishna Rao, Head Coach and Strategic Consultant at Peepal HR Associates, held a panel discussion on the topic of ‘Proliferation of Automation in the HR industry’, wherein the panel talked about how the amalgamation of AI and EI both are equally important for the business to grow.
The panel consisted of few top-notch people, who are known for their work in their respective fields. Mr. Amulya Shah (VP & Head HR at IT by Design), Mr. Sanjay Abhigyan (Editor, Business Research at Amar Ujala), Mr. Raj Kamal Gupta (Director of HR at Dalmia Group) and Mr Srihari Mahale (Head, Solutioning at Sankey Solutions) were part of the panel discussion.
The second part of the event was an afternoon session, which started with a welcoming note by Professor Kunal Ganguly, Chairman of Placements at IIM Kashipur. The second in the queue for the afternoon session was Mr. Parthasarathi Mishra who used to be a chairman at Tata Steel Ltd. He gave a keynote speech along with Mr. Swapnakant Samal who is Head Talent Acquisition Group at Reliance Industries.
A panel discussion was held thereafter on innovative trends and technologies related to HR and how the existing gap can be channelised between GEN X and GEN Y. Mr. L.R.K. Krishnan (Ex. SVP Human Resources at Reliance Communications) was the moderator at the panel discussion, which involved Mr. Shivadeep Panjwani (Head Human Resources at Premier Info Assists), Mr. Abhishek Sharma (Lead – Talent Acquisition at AGS Transact Technologies Ltd.), Dr. Afsha Dokadia (Head of Learning and Development at L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering) and Ms. Padmini Punna (Human Resource Business Partner at DSM).
Not only these events open multiple avenues for students but they also give them a wider perspective of how the industry is evolving in terms of using the advanced technologies.
