IIM Sambalpur Begins Online Classes

IIM Sambalpur has started online classes for their MBA batches. Classes for the new MBA 2020-22 batch of IIM Sambalpur will begin on 3 August 2020. The institute will also allow students facing digital issues to attend classes from their hostel rooms on the campus.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sambalpur has joined the list of colleges that have begun online classes for their students. The institute has taken this decision keeping in mind the current restrictions faced by educational institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

IIM Sambalpur Online Classes for MBA

IIM Sambalpur, one of the fastest-growing young IIM, has recently conducted the final exams for its first-year students in the online proctored mode. Now, it has completely shifted the classes of its MBA course online. The institute is using online platforms such as Moodle LMS and VC to conduct its online classes. It has also assured the students that there will be no change to the curriculum.

Classes for the students who recently have joined the MBA 2020-22 batch of the institute based on CAT 2020 results will also be conducted online. The induction of the new batch will begin from 3 August and continue till 7 August 2020.

The institute has also made proper provisions for any students who may face any disruptions in online classes. Such students who do not have proper access will be allowed to return to the campus and attend classes from their hostel rooms.

Apart from IIM Sambalpur, FORE School of Management has also been quick to adapt to the online model. The institute's shift to online classes has also been a success and it has conducted 40 sessions from 17 July 2020. The institute has reported a 95% to 100% attendance in its online classes.

The institute is doing all that is possible to ensure that the learning of its students is not interrupted during this time. Proper feedback is being taken from the students and faculty, which will be used to make improvements in the current system. This shift is fuelling a growth in the online education sector in India. Students who are undecided about opting for online learning courses can be assured of proper support and growth of online classes in the future.

IIM Bodhgaya also organised a virtual orientation programme on July 21-22nd for its incoming batch of MBA to help students get an idea about the course and the institute. Ashish Kr. Chauhan, MD & CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange was the Chief Guest. Falguni Nayar, Founder and CEO, Nykaa.com, and Damodar Mall, CEO, Reliance (Retail), who are also members of the Board of Governors at IIM Bodh Gaya were the guests of honour. Day 1 of the orientation included a panel discussion which was moderated by the institute's director.
