IIT Bhubaneswar has released the list of shortlisted candidates for M.Tech admission 2020-21. This year, there has been a significant rise in the opening and closing cutoff across all M.Tech specializations and categories.
IIT Bhubaneswar has released the first round of selection list for M.Tech admission 2020-21. The premier institute offers 14 specializations in the M.Tech programme, and the shortlisting of candidates for the admission is done based on their GATE score, performance in B.Tech and Class 12th exams.
According to the official press statement of IIT Bhubaneswar, there has been a significant rise in the opening and closing GATE scores of the selected candidates this year. The trend has been witnessed across all categories and specializations.
This year, the average rise in opening and closing cutoff of IIT Bhubaneswar are 8.6 and 12.7 per cent respectively. For instance, the Computer Science Engineering programme had huge competition this year where the opening rank was 888 and the closing rank was 779. For the General category, the closing rank was 737 and the same for SC category was 616. The data clearly reveals that the competition for M.Tech admission at IIT Bhubaneswar has increased this year.
Over the last three years, IIT Bhubaneswar has been witnessing a constant rise in opening and closing cutoff. The quality education and research scope are the major reasons for the rise in competition.
