All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and IIT Delhi (Indian Institute of Technology) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance research in the field of Ayurveda. As of part of MoU, AIIA will invite technological experts from IIT Delhi for research in ancient Indian medicine. Both AIIA and IIT Delhi signed MoU on July 17, 2018, at a two-day conference on ‘Raising towards Excellence’ at Delhi.
It was the idea of Ministry of AYUSH to utilize the technological expertise of IIT Delhi for further research in ancient Indian medicine. The two-day conference witnessed the presence of HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar, Minister of AYUSH Shripad Naik and other top representatives from national AYUSH institutes.

Head of All India Institute of Ayurveda, Dr. Tanuja Nesari revealed that the Ministry of AYUSH and AIIA are constantly working towards upgrading the facilities and education in postgraduate education in Ayurveda, research and healthcare. In all, the Ministry of AYUSH and AIIA are trying to produce skilled professionals in AYUSH by collaborating with premier institutes so that the ministry can utilize the technological expertise, said by Dr. Tanuja.
IIT Delhi is also happy to collaborate with AIIA and Ministry of AYUSH since the premier institute does not have a medical facility. According to sources, IIT Delhi has lined up 10 projects in Ayurveda research.

The Ministry of AYUSH will also invite professionals and representatives from the IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) to develop leadership skills that are necessary for gaining global recognition.
