IIT Madras to organise 'Institute Open House' for General PublicIIT Madras to organise 'Institute Open House' for General Public: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras organised the “Institute Open House” for the General Public, which will be held from January 2 to 4, 2026 . So that the participants will get a unique chance to witness the first-hand experience of the IIT ecosystem. The public can explore the advanced research laboratories of the Institute, the innovation centres, and the student-led technology projects. To make the event successful, the former edition of the Open House program was witnessed by school and college students of Chennai and other rural areas.
On that “Institute Open House” program, the school and college students, along with the teachers, researchers, and industry professionals. The public is keen to learn more about the innovation activities and the diverse research taking place at IIT Madras. To participate in the program, the public should enroll their names. For the same, online registration is going on, which will end on December 5, 2025.

- The public will get access to 100 laboratories, which include the 4 National Research Centres, 15 centres of Excellence spanning 18 academic departments, 11 Institute Research Centres
- Approximately 95000 registrants and 60000 visitors can participate in the program, which will be one of the largest public engagement initiatives of IIT Madras
