Students hailing from foreign countries can now opt for Delhi University to pursue postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The applications for the admissions are likely to begin in February 2017.

The University will start the admission process for the students abroad from the month of February 2017. Due to some proposed changes in the admission policy, the university has delayed the process of by one month. It has been learned from the sources of the University that the admission notification will be released on the website of the University very soon. The admission process will be totally online and fees will have to be paid online.

Amrit Kaur Basra, the deputy dean, Foreign Student’s Registry, said that from the commencement of the application process for foreign nationals will begin in the first week of February. The entire admission process will be online starting from the filling up of the application forms, uploading all the important documents and remitting the fees. Additionally, various documents will need to be verified by the consulates which the students will have to submit at the time of processing the application.

For the undergraduate courses, registrations will be completed in April whereas, for the postgraduate courses, it will be wrapped up by March end. However, the duration of admission window for diploma and certificate courses will be longer. The University also reserves 5% supernumerary seats in each college, course and department for foreigners.

But foreign students applying for the course in DU must have qualified an English proficiency certificate like TOEFL with a minimum 70 score or IELTS with minimum 6 bands score. These scores are mandatory. If the candidate does not provide any, he/she may be told to complete an intermediate-level proficiency course conducted by the education department of the respective college in the first year.
