Ambassador of Israel to India, Mr. Daniel Carmon inaugurated the Israel Centre at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, on November 5, 2017. Addressing the gathering during the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Carmon indicated that the centre would play a magnificent role in upgrading academic collaboration between India and Israel.
He added that Israel economy is mostly based on the start-up industry and innovation. Indian technology will play an important role in supporting the Israeli system. The centre will merge the ecosystems of both the countries, he added. Mr. Daniel Carmon pointed that the important part of successful academia is sharing of knowledge and said that academic partners should have similar thoughts in the pursuit of knowledge.
Appreciating the Israel Centre at IIM Bangalore, Mr. Carmon revealed that it is a unique initiative and it would bring the two countries together. He also emphasised that there is a necessity of continuous encourage in order to facilitate more student exchange programmes.
The Director of IIM Bangalore, Professor G. Raghuram gave a detailed account of bilateral collaboration between Israel and India. Speaking about traditional areas of partnership between the two countries, he pointed the potential in new domains and complementarities between the two countries.
Professor G. Raghuram further stated that India had consolidated entrepreneurial spirits, and it will gain more from Israel’s vibrant technology-based entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. Israel Centre at IIM Bangalore is a perfect platform for the two countries to understand business strategy, technology innovation, culture, government policies and history.

During the inaugural session of Israel Centre, Chairperson of Syndicate Bank, Mr. Ajay Vipin Nanavati, delivered the keynote address. During his speech, he stressed on Israel system and things that India could learn from the Israel system and vice-versa.
