ISRO has released the merit list for Young Scientist Programme 2020. The programme will be held from May 11 to 22, 2020. Check details here. 

ISRO Young Scientist application form for Young Scientist Programme 2020 was released on February 03, 2020. The last date to fill in the online application form was March 05, 2020. The programme will be conducted from May 11 to 22, 2020.

On March 10, 2020, ISRO has released the provisional merit list for ISRO YUVIKA 2020. Check the merit list below -

ISRO YUVIKA 2020 Provisional Merit List

Young Scientist programme is a two-week residential programme which will be offered in Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram and Shillong. The programme is conducted every year to let students have basic knowledge of space science, technology and its application. Students interested in the programme can fill in the online application form through the official website of ISRO.

In one of the tweets, ISRO thanked Priem Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, for mentioning ISRO's YUVIKA2020 (Young Scientist) Programme in 'Mann Ki Baat' on February 23rd after which the registration number of students increased from 74,000 to 1,53,000.

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020 Important Dates

ISRO has extended the registration dates to apply for the Young Scientist Programme 2020. Earlier the deadline to apply was February 24, 2020. The dates are extended by 10 days and the new application deadline is March 5, 2020.

March 05, is the last date to apply for Yuva Vigyani Karyakram (YUVIKA). According to the ISRO, till date 1,53,000 students have registered for the programme. The first Yuva Vigyani Karyakram was organised for school children in 2019.

  • The programme is organised with an intent to arouse interest in the students in the emerging areas of Space activities.
  • ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020 is a two weeks programme that will be held between May 11 to May 22, 2020.
  • The programme will be conducted at 4 centres of ISRO -Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Selected students will be provided with accommodation in ISRO guest houses or hostels and the expenditure of travel and stay will be borne by ISRO

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who have completed Class VIII and are currently studying in Class XI can join the course.

  • Any student from CBSE, ICSE or state board can apply Based on the academic performance, the candidates will be selected for the course.

  • From each state and territory, three students will be selected. Students from rural areas will be given some special weightage to join the course. Merit list of selected candidates will be released in March.
